Should've rammed it off the road, taken the camo off and get as many pictures as possible. Take one for the team.

Pretty safe bet. There's a lack of cars in that price range. A stripped out Boxster/Cayman, a lame TT-S, the utterly unsporty SLC and Z4, and a buncha sedan based, heavy coupes like the 4er, C Coupe, S5 and I guess the stupidly heavy and dumb RC-F and whatever dumb Q name the current Infinity G30TT is really called.

No RX7, no Nissan, and certainly no Mitsubishi to deal with.

Of course there is the obvious problem, just as with the MkIV, the Corvette.

Its hardly a problem. Vett got its ass kicked by the Supra performance wise, but the Supra was expensive as hell.

All the new Supra needs to be is a larger FRS with double the Hp(easy enough) and people will drool. It would be cool if they build a crazy Z06 type version that shamed supercars. But it especially needs a cheap base version like the Vett has. a 300hp base would be sufficient.

Supra was a beast for its time, this car needs to be a beast for the modern times.

I assume the Supra won't be using a BMW engine? If they're stuck using a Toyota engine, I don't see anything fitting the bill, unless they develop a new turbo 6 cylinder.... or perhaps using the Lexus 5L V8.

lexus has a patent on a v6 twin turbo, originally anticipated to use that instead of the bmw inline 6

There is a thread on that Supra forum that says this thing will be auto only. Fail.

Exactly why it needs an affordable entry base model. Simple V6 300hp and 35k ish starting price. Let option's push it north of 50k.

Mk3 production was around 250k, Mk4 was 50kish. Even the Toyota Supra needs to be affordable, they forgot that with the Mk4.

I'm not complying.

There's only about 3000 in north america like mine 6speed tubro

Agree, I would rather have the old NA V6 2GR for a base model vs the rumored 4 cylinder.

Are you referring to this? I believe members here had said this list maybe outdated and auto also refers to DCT.

145 kw/ 320 nm. That should be a base model and under Toyota's badge competing with the Civic Si or perhaps new gen of FRS?

I can't imagine BMW would want to have a model like this in their line up considering the 230 is filling it already with more performance.

lol saw it again from afar though yesterday afternoon. The body shape is the same as the pic above. I haven't seen it close enough to make out the lighting details/shape.

Ya but don't you find it strange if MT is only offered by BMW and not under Toyota? It does not even make sense financially.

Someone over the other board mentions (don't remember if it was BMW or Yota) hired a team of engineers to work on the MT specifically. This shows they still care about the feel of how MT shifts, feels, and maximizes its cost and performance ratio.

This car does not make sense at all if it is auto with under 350 hp only.

As said above that pic is the BMW. See Supra93 post above with list. Supra lists only auto, while BMW has auto and mech listed.

If Toyota uses their own engines, it makes perfect sense that they could go all auto.

As a person who has never owned an automatic or a dual clutch, I still admit that auto boxes are now faster and more efficient than any manual.

And a team of engineers to make the manual feel good better not be from BMW, a company who has yet to make a truly good feeling manual. Hopefully they poached some folks from Honda, Porsche or Mazda.

Looks like an update to the Z4MC to me. I suppose Toyota will have to put garish headlights, intakes, and grille on the front.
