Nooo....because it wasn't broadcast on social media all over the place like it is today. Now cops just aren't getting away with it as easy as they did before.

He's texting his friend.

"These fucking guys behind me are so disrespectful - lol. They don't love freedom and they hate the troops. I think one of them ate a roasted bald eagle for his pregame meal. Thugs. roflmao"

If you don't like how things are going in this country you protest. If you didn't or were prosecuted for it, then we might as well live in Russia. How do you think America came into existence? People felt oppressed and did something about it. It's the American way. To stand by and do nothing when things aren't going your way is for losers. Or to do nothing for fear of persecution, well that's for people in Iran or other oppressed countries. I think Kaep has respect for this country and is just voicing his opinion to try to make it a better place.

You want to protest then fine

Do it on YOUR dime not your employers

The NFL is going to lose a lot of money over this

Do it at your own dime?

Its a protest, to raise awareness so EVERYONE can see it on TV....thats the point he's trying to make

Why do ppl march the streets and not protest in their own bathrooms?

People are paying to watch the games and his employer is paying HIM to provide a service

Its not HIS time its the owners of the teams time.

In addition to this his little stunt is costing his team mates money......fewer people going to games, fewer fans purchasing jerseys and lots less royalties for everyone involved

Like I said.....if he wants to protest on his own time that his perogative....but this isnt his time

I'm going to assume for a moment that you are an employee at a company and work for someone else?

Do you get to pull some disrespectful shenanigans while at work in front of customers that will inevitably cost the company money?

Of course not....

No they won't. But if people want to protest the NFL that's their right. At least the NFL isn't persecuting their employees for standing up for their beliefs (or kneeling as in this case). Are you kidding me on this? Go read why Andrew Jones won't protest in baseball. It's because he'll get benched or placed in the dugout. I'm sure you would agree that MLB keeps their minorities in line which I bet makes you happy. Go give your money to MLB, they do it the way you want it to be done. What a load of crap.

The "employer" doesn't care. Roger Goodell isn't bothered by it either and the Ginger Hammer loves handing out fines and suspensions.

They aren't going to lose money either. It's not like people aren't going to games. Also people who say they aren't going to watch the game because of this anthem thing really weren't going to watch it anyways.

Your argument is irrelevant to the issue.
No one cares if the niners are losing money or not.

Here are the facts of the matter

The NFL is ALREADY losing money

http://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozan.../#579255e07dbd

Quote:
The National Football League will rake in roughly $4.6 billion in television fees from CBS CBS +0.22%, ESPN , NBC, Fox and DirecTV that it will equally share with its 32 teams this year. The NFL commands such a rich bounty because advertisers pay up for football’s huge ratings.

The television money is a big reason why the average NFL team is worth $2.34 billion.

But the National Anthem WLP +% protests that began with San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick and has since been copied by other players has angered many fans. And that anger may be one reason why the television ratings for the first week of NFL games were bad. As my colleague Brandon Katz wrote: “Both CBS’ Sunday afternoon game and NBC’s Sunday Night Football saw their lowest ratings in seven years. Throw in last night’s lackluster debut and the 2016 NFL season is off to its slowest start in recent memory in terms of TV ratings.

Money is EXACTLY the topic and the team owners and the NFL will only tolerate this from their employees until they lose enough money

Why do you think these guys own an NFL franchise instead of a local dog walking service?

The moment this really starts to hurt the bottom line they wont tolerate it

Far more likely it's lackluster matchups.

Last week was Vikings/Packers. Packers are mediocre this year (or so it seems) and Vikings are playing with a backup quarterback. Also AP went out early.

As for the niners, realistically they aren't going to be a competitive team. All teams make more money when the games/franchises are competitive.

Did he ASK his employer if they were ok with it before he pulled this stunt?

Do you think he asked his team mates because this clearly impacts them

Lots of people care including the NFL and the team owners who's revenues are down

The advertisors care that a lot fewer people are seeing the ads they paid a pile of money to air

The vendors who sell franchise clothing and jerseys are a whole lot when fans are not buying their stuff

The list goes on and on......might take a whole season for it to have an impact.....time will tell

The article has zero proof that the anthem is the reason and even acknowledge that the matchups are terrible. Rams/niners? That's not exactly a barnstormer.

It's like saying Trump running for president is the reason NFL ratings aren't as good. It must be true because Trump wasn't running for office last season.

Forbes made absolutely no link to the fallen ratings and guys not standing for the anthem. This is some biased article that has taken quotes out of context to voice an opinion. Forbes made no such analysis, at least in the quote you sent.

Personally I think he's a selfish spoiled brat who didnt think about how his own selfish little agenda would impact his team mates and every single person that supports not only that franchise but the entire NFL

If he wants to step out into the street on his dime and protest thats his perogative

But when he does it on his employers dime and puts many thousands of other people who depend on the revenue/attenndance at games and everything else that trickes down from games I can only conclude that hes a selfish, immature baby
