Anybody ever told you guys that y'all nitpick way too damn much.. I guess that's the nature of the internet, everyone has a voice - for better or worst..

The car looks find and makes a way more aggressive leap over the F22, out the box..

The headlights and taillights I could take it or leave it but I can grow to accept them - or just swap it whenever the LCI arrives..

Also, for some strange reason, this M240i example seems to appear smaller to me or at least similar dimension as its predecessor, especially in the rear end.. Go figure..

Anyways, ZF8 and the initial offering of AWD only leaves this one off my list but I can't wait to see them pepper up this chassis with a six-speed, twin turbo RWD, with electrical-mechanical LSD on the G87! Controversial stying or not, one is ending up in my garage, that's for sure

When people will see this car in the rearview mirror they will not move; they know it's a Subaru...

I hope you're right, but based on the crappy LCI versions of the X3M and X4M, I'm not getting my hopes up:

So unfortunate. There is nothing aggressive or "M" about this. It simply feels completely over-designed.

Not crazy about the single headlight look. Looks pretty sleek otherwise

Every 1/2 Series generation looks less and less awkward than the last; this has even better proportions than the previous car. The wheel wells are nearly the right size, in the right place relative to the height of the front fender and rear quarter. Enjoying the E46 CSL-style kick to the trunk lid. Looks amazing, especially considering that this is 'just' the M240xi. Those fender flares demand attention.

I'm shocked the old leaked photo (half covered silver one) was accurate -- I thought for sure that wasn't the 2-series.

I guess it's good that I don't recoil from it (like I did with the G80/G82 -- regardless of how eminently capable the cars are).

And to think, I thought the F87 taillights were boring/too plain. But I still remember seeing the F87 debut and loving 95% of, creating a sense of excitement (and desire) in me. I'll wait until the G87 M2 version to make my final conclusion.

Well said. The more I look at it the more I love it. I'm very excited to see this in person and even more excited for the G87.

Following suit of the 3/4 series... Pretty lame, but they know they can get us with the enthusiast tax

Blame the "enthusiasts" that praise the zf auto and don't buy manuals

I hope I light the tail lights. The photos from the leak didn't look great imo. I hope I warm up to them bc at this point I prefer the front of the M3 to the back of this car.

Let's see how the car looks

Great character line from the A-pillar forward to the side of the grill. That hood line is will probably make the front end feel much smaller from the driver's seat - just like it did in the e90 / e82. The f30 / f87 feel fat from that perspective. The way this g42 hood wraps out over the front fender is also really nice.

It is almost as if the manufacturer knows that they screwed up with the G20 / G80 design language and now seeks amends.

Because the g42 does not adopt many of the terrible G20 design elements, I wonder if this foreshadows a larger shift away from the G20 design language. In the alternative, perhaps the g42 did not adopt the g20 design elements simply because it is based on a different platform this time - i.e., not the 3/4 series platform this time.

2 things:

1. Tail lights will look great with car in black paint- considering the black accents

2. Fenders appear to be wider than current 2 series. Can't wait to see the M2

For the newbies like me

Does this thing on the side is expected to be in all painting colors?

Purple does not seem to have it while the gray yes.

Is this the something to go in production?

Looks good, can't wait for the big reveal. Have been hanging out for this for quite some time. Size and proportions look spot on.
