I think these pics were the vacation before last...I was around 190lbs. Then one where I went down into the 180's.
Damn brother, lookin' swole as fuck, really good thickness in your arms & delts..wheels are impressive too

185-190 is a good weight for me for the summer,I'm only 5-7" so I look much bigger than I am when my ab's are in and I'm vascular. Sadly I can only do light leg sessions due to my back, maybe 5-6 plates each side on the leg press but I'll use strict form and concentrate on the negatives.

I did get a bit carried away with the diet last summer and definitely lost muscle towards the end even though I was consuming 4500cals +/-. It's difficult for me now to hold size while I diet since I can't really do any compound movements any longer.

Top pic was 212lbs in March '19 bottom pic was 179lbs in September '19(was experimenting w sodium loading in 2nd pic and was holding quite a bit of water)

Thanks man. We are the same height as well.

Lol.....even are diets are pretty close. To gain I have to eat 4.5K+ and I can drop weight like it's nothing on 3000 calories. My wife hates me!

1MOREMOD is the same...he is hitting 5K+ in meals when he is in "gaining" mode.

I have always been vascular...and that adds to the overall effect. Plus when I do put on weight, it tends to distribute evenly over my body and I can look leaner than normal at a higher body fat.

You should fit right in with all of us on here.... 1MOREMOD , JP10 , lsturbointeg , all these guys are hardcore and great to talk to and bounce new ideas off of!

This pic was from last year about a week out from vacation. I didn't get as lean as I wanted to as I was fitted for a tux for my daughter's wedding, so I didn't start my diet until May.

I was around 197lbs if I remember correctly. I track all my food and weight, so I can look at a date on a picture, tell you what I weighed, and how many calories I was averaging that week.

Am I obsessed much?!

I feel at home already, thank you gentlemen

I was doing a clean bulk vs my normal dirty bulk this time around and liked it much better without my weight fluctuating dramatically off-season. As long as I look better than all the other 50yr old Dad's in the neighborhood,I'm happy lol.
Plus all the boys that wanna date my 17yr old daughter end up wanting to talk to me about working out which really pisses her off. Win/win situation lol!

And ya,I date&log all my supplements/dieting along with pics so I can see what works and have a quick reference if needed so I can make adjustments. Were in the same boat lol

Great shape at that weight. You carried it well. Had to be those giant legs!

Heaviest I ever been was maybe 230 lbs....but I always had an aversion to gaining too much body fat. I would go on a bulk.....but once I got above 12%, I would chicken out and start cutting again.

I've been fortunate in that I can still train heavy, but I stopped the heavy bulking a couple years ago and wanted to concentrate more on being overall fit.

This was one near my heaviest. And since we are being honest, it's going on 3 months since I've been in a gym or followed a diet.

My dad has been very sick, so I've been taking care of him. So the other pic is how I currently look.

If I'm not in the gym, I lose weight like nobody's business. But I plan to return soon, up the calories, and get some mass back on. Don't be so hard on yourself. If you were there once, you can regain a lot of it back.

I can recomp in about 3 months. I've done it before, and will do so again!

Damn, sorry to hear about Dad. I wish him well.

Sadly,my days lifting are pretty much over at this point. Like I mentioned previously I had a reverse shoulder replacement day before Thanksgiving and have been having some issues with the prosthesis and will need a revision in the next month or so. Which means my summer will be spent recovering and then in PT 3x a week. Once that heals I need my left shoulder replaced as my rotator cuff has been torn since July but I said screw it and have been training through it. If you follow bodybuilding,Dave Palumbo had the same procedure as I.

Maybe in a year or so I'll be able to train again

Come on now....with 18"+ arms...you can not say you aren't jacked!

I've seen pics, you're packing size. And you have a large frame too. You are twice my size.

190 lbs this morning - as a natural lifter I've been focusing more on balance and strength and less on muscle size, as my body was actually starting to get too big for my head lol. I feel much better - focusing on my core a lot more, diet, back, legs and any area that historically I've not focused on as much as the more flashy muscle groups.

In this same boat man. Constantly trying to balance my size so I can fit into clothes properly. It's a struggle haha.

5'10 and 193 this morning. Was 198 but doing a small cut to lean out a little.

Just turned 49, so I don't go really heavy anymore, try to focus on working in a variety of exercises, functional moves (walking lunges with dbells are killer), focusing on slow eccentric (4 - 5 seconds) and really feeling the muscles work. This seems to work for me and my body type. I've also backed off frequency a little as I can tell it takes a little longer to recover.

I really think it makes a huge difference in your success to find the type of training that your body responds to best. And that likely will change over time, with training age/experience, and as you get older.

As everyone has pointed out, diet is really the main point of emphasis, you can't out train a bad diet. To me it's 25% training and 75% diet.

I agree about frequency. My feelings are that it isn't really the muscle group that needs the extra rest (studies show this) as it is the Central Nervous System. The CNS takes a lot longer to recover especially if over-trained!

Core and endurance stuff on non gym days has been my off day workout maybe some weighted dips and weighted pull-ups if I can't make it to the gym. Although I'm 40 I've found that my muscles still need consistent stress or they don't stay toned. As others have pointed out - rest is more important - but try explaining that to my wife lol.

So like I mentioned, I've been working with my dad on his diet since his health incident. He can walk short distances on his own...just tires out easily. But dialysis will do that to you. We are working on that as well.

So for the last 3 trips, I've been "wheeling" him through the grocery store for his shopping. He's starting to see what I'm talking about.

He's doing his own meal prepping and today before dialysis he weighed the lowest he's been in almost 20 years. His waist has dropped a little over 6", and he's starting to gain back some insulin sensitivity.

We've been able to reduce his long term insulin by almost 20 units a day, and eliminate his fast acting insulin.

In the past he would get hungry, and just assume his blood sugar was low...so he would eat.

Now when he has that feeling, he's checking his BS and learning that it's okay to experience hunger as long as everything else is in line.

So he's not using it as a "crutch" like he has done for so long in the past when he used it as an excuse to eat something sweet because he thought he was having a sugar drop.

I've got him an exercise bike coming, and already got him a small dumbbell set that he's using. He's proud of his progress....just wishes he was more serious about his health in the past.
