Personally I think it could be disastrous as I would never want people to think I climbed the ladder that way. But maybe in less serious, more artsy industries, it's more acceptable.

Little did he know, and I paid a visit to his house with my dog when we found his address. He showed up a few years later again, and he texted me threats for a while.

I guess based on personal circumstances and the industry,this could be a mutually acceptable arrangement that could take a career/business to the next level.
For some this is just like a handshake or exercise for people that find each other attractive IMO as long both realize that no?!
