I don't get it personally. Toyota dealerships make their money based on volume sales and selling multiple Supra's at modest profits should be worth it to them over trying to get ADM and not selling any. Seems lazy to me.

I post this article every time this topic comes up. Only because this has happened to me so many times that I knew there was something wrong with me and why car salesman appear to hate me. I've since changed my buying strategy for new cars and this article has helped me to do that:

https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cul...o-enthusiasts/

Is it fair? No, but it's the reality of things and if you adapt a little, you'll end up in the car you want for a little less of a discount than you were hoping for and a lot less frustration.

With the rebates, economy rebounding and stimulus checks I wonder if they can move 12,000 units a year.

The beauty of internet and texts. I've bought my last few cars without actually talking to humans until I had to pick the car up. It's nice.

As someone who has bought a fair number of new cars from dealers, this is precisely it.

I know years ago at 28? When I ordered a '13 Mustang GT Track Pack. I went by the dealership to test drive one. And indicated I was interested in a base with that package, nothing they had on the lot.

I called the salesman back the next day and said, "You're location is convenient for me both from home and work. I want this car, this color, these package, these options. Call me back with a good number and I'll be there in 15 minutes to give you a $1000 deposit so we can get it ordered."

He called me back about a half an hour later, 10% of MSRP, and I went and gave him a deposit. I lucked out and my car only took 6 weeks instead of 12-14 weeks to be delivered.

The dealer with that one still marked up $10k. I wonder how much it's cost him on floor plan because of lazy salesman.

Thank God they added more wings, winglets, and aero. It really needed it.

I see sales have been trending up for the last few months but this a solid month of sales for a car like this. Were there incentives?

We are living in an auto market right now where Kia Telluride’s have $15k markups. Literally nearly everything is selling as fast as they hit showroom floors. The bubble will burst sometime, then we we see what cars keep selling at current rates.

First few months of the year it was $1500 or 0%/60month - pick one. Last month it was $750 and now it's none. In April up until the first week of May you could easily get 5-6k off if you wanted to ship. Last couple of weeks and now those deals are gone and people are struggling to get 2-3k but there are still some dealers out their trying to get rid of a few for 3-4k off in certain markets.

Probably best to wait until 2022 version and also see if they revise the oil burning issues in the 2021.
