Yes, absolutely 100% insurance is totally mandatory. I've got an IWC Aquatimer Chrono, Jaeger Moon Master, and a Patek along with some older vintage converted pocket watches. All are on my policy, no reason not to.

+1
Even though I keep most of my stuff in my gun safe when I'm not wearing it, I still make sure it's covered. I have my wife's jewelery on our policy too.

I love the 339 and Was on my list of next acquisitions, but be careful and read up on it. There are some known manufacturing issues with this particular model and the material may not last a lifetime-if that's important to you ofcourse as I don't buy and sell, I just buy and hold

There have been limited new composite offerings as well, it's got some drawbacks if you actual intend to wear it daily. This "May" eventually make it more collectible, but i buy watches to wear them and this still commands serious $$ new for a showcase piece. I'd not buy unless you can find it from an AD new and warrantied.

It's honestly not that expensive to insure these things, much less than you would think. Plus the policy covers your stuff whether or not it is actually in your house at the time. You need to check your policy but if it doesn't have "off premise" coverage you can usually add it. You get drunk, take a header into a curb and smash your beloved shiny new watch, covered. Get robbed trying to score some crack on the wrong side of town? Covered.

Sort of resembles mine. The face may look black but I decided to go with the blue finish. Mine is from their Luno collection. They were asking $795.00. Since mine was considered last years model I got it for $695.00. I love the clean sleek look these watches have.

Be careful with PVD too, it's like anything else if the base metal is different than surface any imperfections show much worse and cannot polish out.

I got passed down an Omega Constellation Double Eagle along with a F30 328 by my father, but my daily watch is a titanium Luminox series 900.
