Based on most reviews, people hate the MB giant dash surrounded with the led strip. It’s a bit garish.

Losing the shifter on this car is a horrible mistake.

I completely agree.

This M5 is a case where simply MORE does not seem to be just better.

I’m not one of those guys who derides the incoming generation while in the current/previous generation, but this looks terrible.

There are so many (valid IMO) complaints people have expressed about this car, but the lack of a traditional physical gear selector is a true slap in the face.

Unclear if I like it or not yet. Time will tell. Don’t love it though. Certainly not the same level of attraction as I felt when I first saw the f90. But we’ll see…

100%. when you're tied up in a drift you need that lever to shift coming out of it. some ppl do it differently, but I personally prefer the lever. should be mandatory in a "real" ///M car imho.

As the world slowly goes to sh1t around us, I was always able to look to BMW for a pleasant distraction, for some happiness, enjoyment, and to scratch an itch by flogging my car.

Safe to say that there is hardly a car in the current lineup that evokes child like excitement from both a design and enjoyment perspective. Hell, I thought maybe I was just getting tool old for current models and did not understand the design ethos, but even my kids are shaking their heads at this nonsense.

Guess I will be holding on to my car for quite a while longer and pull the trigger on a P car when I cannot take holding out for an M car that is true to M philosophies.

Gutted.
