Understood this is subjective but the G90 M5 doesn’t look as good as the F90 M5. The looks don’t overcome its increase in power delivery for me. Am I saying it’s not the best “super saloon” on the market? No, it may very well be. But if I’m going to purchase a performance BMW that size, it’s more likely going to be the X5M60 or XM. Either way, BMW gets my money. And before anyone from the peanut gallery chimes in. If G90 M5 and XM are considered pure M cars, the X5M60 is just as much a “pure” M car.

Embarrassing for you. Why do people feel the need to comment when their experiences are so far from anything relevant. General forum / BP feature always brings out the peanuts.

Age old hypothetical. The real test is when you are alone with your thoughts driving your non-high performance M, whether you truly believe that.

I assume you haven't taken an X5 M60 and a X5MC out for a test drive for you to make that comment. They drive and feel like completely different machines.

Thank you. There will be those that will make claims because it shares an S engine now yet totally forget it’s the chassis mated to the motor that makes the experience different.

F90, F92 owner here and now G90. I bought the G90 expecting it to be less than the F90 but still its a BMW M car wont be disappointed. After driving the car from day 1 I can say the G90 is a better car. More comfortable yet you know its an M car, more tech and I can feel it has more power.
Only very small things I didnt like, like no soft close, you have to use the fron door handle only to open the car, the sound system in the F90 is much better and ofcourse the exhaust. The exhaust is an easy fix, but the sound system Im waiting to see if anyone comes withan update for it. Still a decent system but if you raise the volume more than 75% you can feel the system struggling. In the end, I changed my mind about the G90 the same as anyone who drove the G90 couldnt be happier. |

After driving the 550e and G90 back to back, I decided I couldn’t live with the M5 as a daily driver…it’s just too firm for me at this stage of life, but a very enjoyable experience. The cancelled M560e would be just right.

Mercedes said the same thing about the 4cyl c63, now that sales are 0 they're going back to a v8 so emissions have nothing to do with it.

G90 is here. This is the first G90 iteration. It’s going to get faster, it’s going to be improved in performance and the interior quality issues will likely be addressed. Is it a departure from the F90 recipe, sure, but it’s the future and it’s here in its first version for all of us to consume. I think once the G90 runs its course, we will see that it was actually ahead of its time.

Same letters but different numbers for the M cars G60 / G90, G30/ G80. And yes lots of changes, bracing, suspensions, brakes, wider wheel size, wider body, LSD, additional cooling, transmission tuning, AWD tunning ... the engine. It changes a lot on how they drive other than on a straight line i'd say.

I owned one. It was the shortest ownership of any car I ever had. I think 3 months and I got rid of it. Horrid build quality - sunroof weatherstripping literally sticking out - creaks galore, and the worst of all was the ride quality or lack thereof.
Sorry I do not agree the LCI was better. I test drove one that was PDI'd and it felt the same to me. |
