G90 M5 appear U.S. dealers across the country

Local dealer just got a G90 on the floor. I have to say it looks amazing in person (minus the middle of the rear diffuser). Every time a piece of info dropped about the G90 (weight, hybrid, looks, etc), I became less and less interested in it. However, seeing it in person has changed my mind at least on the look of the car. The seats are unbelievably comfortable too. Unfortunately, I could not take it for a test drive. But thought you all would enjoy some pics. It's fully loaded, nice spec. Enjoy.

I was just at rallye bmw and had one in black and red interior
I also have to say it looks much better in person and the interior is nice and upgrade from my M8
I know there is conplaints about full leather but to be honest it is not of a big deal after sitting in one
The only thing i did not like the plastic buttons on the door they look cheap other then that looks better in person and nice interior
As for the seats they are night and day compared to my M8
MUCH MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE
i was surprised in a good way

This one is at Habberstad on the island. I inquired about a price and they want 15k over msrp
Agree, the interior felt cheap with the plastic buttons.

Seriously.
Are you picking up a G90? I saw you have an M8. Is it a Coupe or GC?
I currently have a coupe but need to go 4 door for the next car. I am just about sold on the M8 GC but curious as to why folks are going with the G90 over a GC.

My dealer also got their first one today. Not spoken for and available at msrp, which is really telling. They'd rather sell to a local customer but I'm sure they'll take anyone's money.

Seeing it in person has not changed my mind at all. It looks massive and sits really high for a sedan, and it sounds sad. The interface is way to complicated although I'm sure that can be remedied my the M button shortcuts. On the positive side if feels a lot more spacious inside than the previous gen, and the seats are a lot more comfortable, and it sounds better on the inside with the fake exhaust noises than it sounds from the outside. I didn't get to drive it so I have no opinion about dynamics. Still unlikely to accept my Touring allocation.

Yes now i have 2022 m8 coupe and had a convertible before it for 3 years
I have one child
The only reason i am getting the M5 because i am little bored from the M8 interior and need some change
I want a fast daily driver and i think the new M5 ticks the boxes
I just wish it has little more power but with the instant torque , jb4 and intake and maybe downpipes or x pipe i think it will be ok overall
I do not track my cars so i am fine with the weight
I do drive aggressively and probably more then 90% of the people on the forum but i still do not think that the weight will be a problem except maybe braking but the batteries will help a little with regenerative braking
I am not in love with the look but also the M8 started to look little dated (looks gorgeous but dated)
Yes the f90 m5 looks really good but does not have road presence and i prefer the bold look of new M5 (i kmow a lot of people will not agree but this is subjective)

Thank you for these pics!
Anyway what does it means by fake interior exhaust sounds?
Does it literally have fake exhaust notes coming out of the speakers as we drive?

drove the car today
I think it looks good on the outside
interior was too bright . Car had red interior
some stuff felt cheap
driving in straight line the car felt beastly with a lot of torque and power across the range of RPM
you feel some of the weight in sharp turns
driver seating position was high , it seems I could not lower it , though sitting in the passenger seat when my son was driving felt seating position was ok
it seems that you will need some time to learn all the functions
steering was sharp but numb
brakes had normal feel
I think for a daily driver will be a good car
before driving it , I thought it will be out of consideration
after driving it , I will consider
for the record I had 3 M5 in the past

Thank you for the feedback
How does it sound compared to the f90?
The euro one on youtube sounded better then the US spec one for some reason
(No pops and bangs...)

Got it. I share similar thoughts with wanting a fast daily, I drive aggressively/do not track, actually my daily commute is straight roads so as long as the straight line speed is there, I am content, and the M8 is a bit dated but I do think it is still one of the best looking BMWs. My problem is I always want the next best thing to come out and right now that is the M5. I do agree, it would need an exhaust overhaul and possibly some other aftermarket updates.
I was actually going to pull the trigger on my M8 GC build early next week, just finalizing which wheels I want, but may take a little more time to see customer reviews of the G90.
Thanks for sharing.

The M5 on display was sitting right next to similar color M8 coupe (black one also ) so i got to see both next ro each other and sit in both at the same time and i can say that new M5 does not look bad at all
The rear the M8 wins but the front i think the New M5 looks more aggressive with the hood and straight lines and better then the M8
Also the seats are night and day ( comfort wise and space in the back) compared to the M8 so another reason for you to get the M5 if you daily drive it and want to make your family happy
When i t came out the M8 was so special but bmw dis not invest in it and no real LCI and they kept everything the same
If they did a nice LCI and refreshed the interior like the rest of the line up i would have got a gran coupe

Thanks for sharing. I'm curious how G90 stacks up based on the general consumer's input.
Was one of the 3 M5s you owned in the past, an f90? If so, any additional thoughts on the G90 vs F90 in terms of driving feel?
Also, like ctelimad, I am interested in the exhaust note on the car. Any feedback there?

M8 LCI would have been clutch.
My initial thought before seeing the M5 today was to get the M8 since it most likely will be the last true V8 ICE I own. Hold on to it for a few years and see where the M5 is at then. Hopefully there is an LCI and/or red line version that makes it "better" or cleans up in certain areas where it is currently lacking. Will need to give it some thought now. I am still leaning towards the M8 but going to have my dealer price out an M5 and see where it is at vs the M8 payment wise (none of this $$ over MSRP BS) That could play a factor in the decision as well.
Again, I appreciate the insight.

That makes total sense
I did my order through Dan at Nextlevelautobroker (got few cars from him)
The car will be delivered to passport bmw so a little drive
At msrp
Base MF and residual 57% for 10k mikes a year
So we are talking 2200 a month including ny taxes /long island
Maybe less depending on MF
I am not paying a dime above msrp or MF markup

I actually hit up Nextlevelautobrokers to see if they could do any better on an M8 deal. Haven't heard back yet.
But that is right around where my M8 quote is coming in with Suffolk county taxes included.
I have the M8 fully loaded, minus CCB option. It's a $159,925 price tag.
What options did you go for on the M5? Does yours include CCB?

Mine has frozen paint 3600$
Executive package 1850
M driver prof 900
Carbon fiber trim 300+
Carvon fiber package 3000+
Total msrp 133k (given the new gas guzzler fee of 2600 and the destination fee 1100 they add total of 3k to the price)
No ccbs given it is 8k and i daily ,drive it and prefer no ccbs in cold weather can take little time to warm up

He can probably get you an M8 for 1900$ same msrp as yours and without msds
With msds maybe around 1800

That would be amazing.
Thanks for sharing the M5 build too. That is similar to what my build would cost.
Hopefully N3xtlevel gets back to me

Thanks

Stopped by my local dealer today to check out their HEA car. They originally said they weren't going to sell it for a while as BMW had a one month block on sales. BMW ended up lifting that block early and someone was coming to pick up the M5 this evening; therefore, I could not take for a test drive.

I felt mostly the same as above. Car was better looking in person than in pictures.....both exterior and interior. The red interior has a fluorescence to it that was a bit too much for me.

In addition to the above, I felt like the rear seating area, door panels, and threshold were missing certain finishes (e.g. doorsill threshold, lighting strip like front door panel, etc). The non-leather door panel tops and dash are nice to the touch but could use some variation either by way of texture or color. The lack of thigh bolster extensions, which have been on most M cars for ages, seems cheap. The curved screens were scaled reasonably well. The stereo was underwhelming.

The big thing for me was the seemingly diminished visibility as compared to previous BMWs. I've always liked visibility from BMWs. This one seems a bit compromised.

I hopped back in my RS6 and the interior immediately felt like it was more mature and thorough (rear seating area, lighting around seat belt buckles, etc).

I'm still planning on keeping my G99 order but there is an outside chance I keep the RS6 and pass on the M5 touring.

I had an F10
and 2 F90 all comp
certainly sound seem muffled compared to F90 but we did not push car as it had only 3 miles and we did like a 5 mile loop each of us
HUD was too big. It felt like a laptop sitting on the hood and it had too much information like a blue and red line
blue indicating electric use
red indicating ICE use
had to shut it down . In full disclosure I am not a HUD guy so I shut it on all my cars but this one seemed big
