So the fever took hold once again…I didn’t realize we were going to get the M5 Touring (G99) in the US until I got a promotional email from BMW Thursday night. So I configured one and put a deposit down yesterday. Now the wait begins…~8 months.

My daily driver rn is a ‘24 X5 50e…I love the combination of electric & ICE, and can’t wait for the 4.4L.

I REALLY want to pick this up at the Welt. Going to see if I can lobby a little. Can’t hurt to try. I did that in ‘12 for my M3 (E93) convertible. Trip of a lifetime.

I like how it looks. And I know how painful the wait is - my car made the same trip the other way across the world. An X5 M60i straight from Spartanburg over the pond to Europe… took around 7 months from configurator to delivery

Just curious why you were quoted an 8 month wait?

I think 8 months wait isn't too bad when you realize that more options could be coming next year. I saw from other posts that there is gonna be more individual options in March. I have ordered the same spec as you but with red interior with delivery date in March. I would much rather wait a bit to see if the full merino leather options are much better.

Figuring four months from production start to arrival at the dealer, four additional months to make one's way up the allocations list isn't unrealistic I don't think. When I did my calling around in early October, those lists were already 12 to 16 deep in my area.
