$225k base price. 992.1 GT3 started at $161k 3 years ago...Porsche keeping that ADM money for themselves now, bad day for Porsche dealers. Can't see a 992.2 being a $275k car when a 991.2 is $160-200k

Agree that GT3 is going into hyperdrive with its pricing for this and only for specially selected buyers probably.

Yeah, but the sad thing is that people will pay their asking prices and more . Porsche knows that, that's why they ask ridiculous money for their cars now. Porsche wants to be the new Ferrari, but with higher production numbers.

Porsche pricing in general has reached gouging levels. Porsche is absolutely keeping the ADM money for themselves, and then dealers tack on an ADM anyways because suckers will pay it, lol.

This car creates hope for all of humanity.

Thankfully VAG still knows what a car is.

Price wise I don't understand it because there is no shortage of 992.1 GT3 on lots either new or slightly used.

Yeah but they’re all $30-75k over MSRP used. Porsche is just taking those ADMs and pocketing it instead.

Yeah 200K+ easily looking at it, damn.

I'd be looking at a 997 gt3 then, save a whack of cash and get a really analog car

used 992.1 cars with low miles and good options are going for 220-240. Tourings are 260. 991.2 are getting 10-20 over sticker depending on spec. Tourings 220. Porsche is essentially trying to keep ADM for themselves. If people still pay ADM, they will just raise the price again next year.

https://bringatrailer.com/porsche/992-gt3/

i am curious to see how much ADM can be charged though. some guy on reddit called his local dealers in washington and they want 75k adm. making it a 300k car before options.

I really don't understand the market. At 200k and how they used to be like yours, it makes sense. It was a drivers car. These new ones are not. I've driven the 992 3RS back to back versus a 750... No comparison. I don't even care to pursue a 2RS because of the stupid ADM that dealers want to charge. Don't even have to pay that much markup on Ferraris or Lambos. Even dumber if you're actually a track rat instead of a poseur spec 3rs you'll just get a cup car...

Look at the drivers of these new gen 992's, they aren't even car guys that push their cars anymore, it's... people like the GM of Arrowhead BMW here in Phoenix. He goes 5 under and is terrified of his regular GT3. He goes to cars and coffee to show all his buddies, but doesn't drive anything.

Hence the 997 idea, plenty of power for the street and it's old school Porsche drivers car but morn enough not to shit itself every few months.

The 992 feels to me more like a supercar that is less connected.

That's exactly how I'd describe it too! It's numb and vague, even the 3rs. To say it's not brutally fast is obviously a bold faced lie, but it's not "fun" to drive. It's not rewarding to beat the absolute shit out of, because you have to just to feel ANYTHING. The 997.1 and .2 were the last of it's kind, I think. I want to add one of them to my collection but not sure what.

I will say that the the GT4RS somehow feels better than the the GT3. Wish I could get my hands on one with that crazy engine build and shorter gear ratio setup. Bet it's pretty sweet.

All these car manufacturers make me feel sad.
I can't be a modern Porsche enthusiast anymore since I don't enjoy the smell of my own farts.
I can't be a modern BMW enthusiast because everything I've cared about the brand is dead with the exception of the s58.
I can't be a modern Honda enthusiast because they make dumb shit like the CTR that costs as much as a M2 basically, and they're too scared to make another s2000 or NSX that's worth a shit.
I can't be a modern Chevy enthusiast because the Corvette gets worse every generation now, and the ZL1 1LE is dead.
I can't be a modern Ferrari enthusiast because they put v6's in their top end models now (F80) and they make stuff like the 296GTB is a which is a cope-mobile.

Sad times to be a car guy I guess. If I want to go really really fast in a straight line I guess it's great, but if I want to turn and enjoy how the car feels and communicates I'm SOL. Buy all the old cars you can I guess....

yup alot of the market has gone to speculation and flipping. People want a car they can drive for free but show off to others. its gone from a drivers car to an art piece.

i think the ferrari/lambo market is different. at 300k people know they are just getting a 'regular' model and are cool with the depreciation. But there is still the 'speciale/pista/tdf' markets which require special dealer relations like porsche.

Frustrated with the arbitrary pricing increase as an owner of a 992 and someone who is waiting for a GT3 allocation. I have driven all GT3 generations and I don’t think it’s worth $100k more than my 2024 992.1 Carrera T. It’s just not.

Porsche went public with about a year ago so not a shock they want to squeeze customers for even more profit but for a car that didn’t change all that much (.2 evolution) they are being greedy asking for $40k more than last year with no substantive upgrades.

I would implore you to drive the c8 Z06. It’s a faster, better sounding, more comfortable for the street, slightly heavier GT3 for $100k less. It may be where my money goes next honestly (non-Z07 convertible - great street car regardless of the styling and what the haters say).

I already have a 720s on 335 r888r's and a 750 coming. I'm good with not experiencing ownership with the DCT in the new corvettes.
I loved my c6 z06 with turbos, I hated my c7 z07 because it was impossible to keep cool (even with a 2650) and the chassis felt worse.

This thread was bad for me because now I'm looking at 991.2s....

I hear you and I have driven lots of McLaren’s as well. The C8 Z is very very good - suspension is nearly as good as 720 in terms of comfort and dual character street/track.

I too am looking at 991.2’s, had one and sold it. But looking back it’s probably the perfect 911 with just enough tech and the right size. The GT3 was only a 2 year run and not a ton out there.

For the first time there’s an option to spec in rear seats into the GT3 Touring.

I think a lot of people are missing the fact that Porsche has dramatically increased prices of the base 911 as well for 992.2. A base 911 with a few options is $150k which is not far off what 992.1 GT3 used to start at.

I was on wait list for years at my local dealer but passed on getting one at a $75k and then $50k ADM. I should have went with $20k ADM allocation that out of state dealer offered me in 2023.

Anyway i finally gave up waiting for an allocation and got 991.1 GT3RS. I payed basically what it's msrp was back in 2017.
I think the 991 GT3RS cars are some of the best values in the GT market.

Porsche in turn raised prices substantially on basically everything ever since they went public. This means that Porsche is now just charging the money that the dealers would of got anyway for the prices of their vehicles, cutting into the dealers "margins" as there may be less clientele who are willing to say, pay a 220k MSRP + 100k ADM versus a 280k MSRP and 100-150k ADM. At this point since I'm unplugged from Porsche I have no idea how the dealers are taking it.
