Medicinal Cannabis
So who else uses medicinal Cannabis? I know we have a lot of Cali, Oregon, Colo, Washington, Michigan....hell there are other states. But who else is a supporter of cannabis?
I've actually got a podcast and radio talk show that promotes cannabis in-lieu of the pills the doctors tell us to take. I've personally gotten off of Cymbalta, Prazosin, and Trazadone because of cannabis. It's given me the freedom of my own medical care. I can manage my pain and mental issues without the harmful side effects. Anyone else? Or will this get me banned, closed and terminated? |

I would if it were medicinal here. I was a heavy cannabis user for more than 20 years. Woke up with some sativa, puffed on that throughout the day and started smoking indica around 3-4 pm. I have PTSD and the benefits of cannabis are far beyond anything I have ever been prescribed by a doctor. Due to work's drug testing policy I haven't used for years now. Although cannabis suppresses REM cycle sleep and keeps me from having nightmares, what's more important? Learning how to deal with nightmares and lack of sleep or living on the streets or just being poor. Not worth it; but I will say that I did seem to have a much more enjoyable life when I could partake. It seems to make me focus more, allow things that normally upset not be so much of burden, and generally make me a much more pleasant and tolerable person. Without it, I'm pretty damn serious and wound tighter than a banjo sting about 90% of the time.

Not a fan personally but dont care if all drugs are legal. Would like to see the money subsidize the country and reduce taxes elsewhere.

I have a few older family members who use it and prefer it over the crazy amounts of pain meds they required daily.
I also have a friend who uses it for her severe migraines. Without it she basically can't function for most of the week.

I'm ignorant in this topic.
How does marijuana actually help treat PTSD? How does it help with other mental issues? I've only smoked a few times and that was nearly 15 years ago. Never got into it. It just didn't appeal to me.

CBD, but not cannabis. While legal, still not approved for those in public safety/random monitoring pool.
Dog has hip dysplasia, picked up a new bottle of CBD (BACON flavored!!!) for her yesterday. Hadn't tried it before, no wonder she isn't very interested. I think the only bacon flavor in on the label. |

I stopped taking the antidepressants (cold turkey - I do not recommend this! You WILL lose your damn mind) and just relied on cannabis usage. The difference was night and day. My PTSD would cause anxiety attacks and sometimes simple triggers would cause me to either want to go into a fit of rage or a full on mental break down. Cannabis usage reduced the affects of the triggers. I could still recognize the things that would potentially start the panic attacks but it's as if they no longer had the same result. I went from being a zombie to being able to smile, laugh and enjoy life again. The nightmares/night terrors associated with PTSD are no joke. I can assure you there is nothing more frightening to a female, that is sharing a bed with you, to be woke up in the wee hours of the morning seeing you punching the floor trying to kill someone in your sleep. This caused lots of problems with my ex-wife toward the end of our relationship. She told me once that she didn't feel safe sleeping in the same bed with me. Cannabis suppresses REM cycle sleep to where the nightmares do not occur as often. I went from having episodes in my sleep 5-6 times a week to maybe 2-3 times a month. It's truly amazing at the difference in my life after stopping the meds and using cannabis. Cannabis also affects everyone differently. I'm very much a type A personality and very high (pun intended) functioning cannabis user. Some simply can not do this. It allows to me to focus more on tasks and become more motivated to accomplish things. This may also simply be due to the species of cannabis that I used in the morning/day time (Sativa) which tends to have more of a invigorating uplifting effect. Either way, it should be treated as any other type of medication. What works for some, doesn't work for all. |

So, is eating grapefruit contraindicated with cannabis use as well???? Why grapefruit gets such a bad rap? Lady today told me she wasn't supposed to eat those either with her contraceptive (was that tidbit an invitation????)

Affects metabolism of certain drugs usually resulting in higher level of said drug sometimes to levels you dont want. Can also be used intentionally, grapefruit plus viagra equals extra powa.
Has to do with cytochrome 3a4 metabolism. Dont know about weed we dont sell that at pharmacy, yet. |

...the bigger picture here is there are archaic laws such as 55mph speed limits that just haven't changed and require too much lobbying or whatever to make a change.
lay term: schedule 1 drug-->high abuse potential, no medical use, and severe safety concerns ...all arguments can stop there. but look how long our country takes to say"oh gosh we were wrong about that one" careful if yall on them vape carts tho. if you get them black market god knows WTf in them. at least flower and a dutch you know what u smoking |
