M5 Touring Teaser [video from BMW USA]

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
BMW USA recently posted a G99 M5 Touring teaser video which I do not think has been shared yet.

It was shared on BMW M Instagram page few days ago, but doesn't matter. Waiting for August 15!

If I had the money, I’d take this over an Audi or Mercedes, weight and all. BMW not having a wagon in North America actually helps and makes it seem more “exotic” than it really is.

I won’t care at all about the weight while hauling 2x4s from Home Depot.

If you were buying a car for the exotic factor perhaps there are better options than the roundel brand. Even the XM was not exotic, not too sure how this will sit given the price target, likely $145k with options and packages ?

It may only be a big hit because people will be living at the edge of FOMO, oh maybe this is the last 5er wagon we will ever see state side.

Yes, it’s unique because it’s not been around as wagon for close to 2 decades in the 5er, last one was E61?

If we had the money is a big big question, I think when we actually have that money - the options and decision making factors change.

Can’t wait for the dust to settle (pun intended from promo video)

Should’ve been clearer, I meant over the RS 6 and E 63 wagon - there are still some available out there. With the XM way too much competition out there in the segment.

BMW would not launch this vehicle without having a good perspective on potential sales. So potential sales are probably appreciable. Great decision by BMW ... and may the era of ADMs (hopefully short lived) sadly begin.

Make it 100% EV and I’d be in.

Otherwise, next.

A 100% ICE would help BMW sell a crapload of cars but of course it wouldn't happen.

They would sell a dozen if this was full EV.

I do like it, I almost think this car looks better in touring version than a sedan! 😳

They released the XM. BMWs track record is questionable at best.

An M Touring with a brutal engine note is the best. If my M3 Touring was electric I’d have never got one.

Should be a good car for the 6 people on YouTube that buy it. It’ll be stupid expensive and then BMW will go “see no one wants wagons. Buy our SUVs we build dirt cheap here instead”

Audi would disagree and BMW noticed:
2021-2023 Audi RS6 - over 4,200 sold in NA.
https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=986115

There are 235 RS6 for sale on Autotrader.com right now.

M3 touring needed too many changes for the US market and at that time they decided - not worth it.

I’ll also speculate that the profit margins on this car are far far higher, making the costs to bring it stateside more palpable.
