Great find on that story! I wonder how many years we will have to wait to hear the real story.

There was a dust covered Jeep Rubicon in our parking garage for nearly two years. Turned out the owner had committed suicide in a park up in the Austin area. It stayed for another year while they attempted to contact family since apparently the apartment lease was on auto draft to the guys parents. Finally they got around to towing it off to get auctioned where they would send the proceeds to the family.
Weird situation since apparently this kid's life was completely subsidized but he still offe'd himself. Given the amount of time it took for the family to sort out the remains of the subsidy I'm guessing there was not a lot of love going on. Sometimes things are just things people collect to take their minds off their issues.

Whoever has ownership rights on that car is either going to walk away with a ton of money or fix it up and have one of the greatest M cars BMW ever built. What a find.

I nearly cried reading this. How can someone abandon one of the greatest M cars ever built? I would kill for one of those.

Great find.
Always love the stories about "barn finds". My dad used to buy Porsche 356 cars that he would find rotting in barns. Those things are worth some real $ these days |

The real mystery now is where did the bumper cover go and where is that flatbed tow truck headed?
Hopefully that photographer followed the truck…sorry lorry. I’m sure we will hear more as this tale unfolds. |

I often see M cars and rare Individual spec BMW’s abandoned in London’s rich residential area underground car parks, the concierge won’t touch these cars and some have been sitting for 15+ years with flat tyres, busted shocks or springs, and completely covered in thick nasty dust, which is the sort of decay you don’t expect to see in a super wealthy area.
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to tell their story accurately, but it’s still interesting seeing some puzzles of the story. |

I believe a car was stolen and the person who stole it, left it there, hoping that everyone would forget about it. He probably intended to go back and get the car. Left the car there due to evidence so he wouldn’t go to prison..

The bumper was in the shots in the original article. I'm sure it is in the the tow vehicle.
