These look like examples of items at the fringe of their consumption wake. Sure, it’s shameful from a BMW enthusiast perspective but these are literally scraps in the overall picture - many of which were probably influence seeking gifts. Through that lens, we all have remnants of our exploits - theirs just happens to be cars among other ‘special’ belongings I’m sure. Guess I don’t have the same propensity to shame when you put it in perspective. With that said, a little effort to donate to a museum or curator would be nice.

I like most of the Hagerty videos. The engine rebuilds and such are cool, and Larry's videos I'll always set some time aside, grab a beer and a snack, and watch. I've loved the Skylines since I was a wee lad in the 80's and he's spent a lot of time documenting them (and owns one).

I know the video says the state of the collection is good and proper but I vividly remember seeing older pics and articles that mention and show so many cars with major mold damage from humidity swings?

I couldn’t understand how not one person realized this would be an issue, especially in a tropical climate.

You can’t just stick a car in a concrete building and expect it to be fine, long term.

Hopefully they made proper changes to this.

I guess the Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s and Porsche’s deserve washing and maintenance while the BMW’s and Rolls sit untouched for extended periods of time. It looks like the family is a bunch of hoarders or simply don’t care to take care of their property.

Knowing what I know about SOB, I genuinely doubt he’d ever allow polluting the oceans, let alone wasting money in such a way.


If you’ve ever met him or read his biography, you’d have a much deeper sense of his character.


He’s just not that kind of person. At worst, he’d donate those vehicles instead.

It wasn't "his" money. It is wealth basically created and stolen on the backs of his people. There was no work or value creation on his part.
