Finally got to see the M5 Touring in person at a BMW event at Sunday Motor Co in Madison, NJ.

BMW USA brought 2 M5 Tourings in IOMG x Kyalami Orange/Blk Interior with the 952M staggered wheels. There were 2 M5 Sedans as well in Frozen Deep Gray. But I was there for the wagon and I kinda like what I saw.

I was at the event Saturday night at the same spot where they had Steve Saxty and some others from BMW headquarters speaking about the touring design and the M5 in general. Really cool event and I thoroughly enjoyed it and it made me a lot more excited for the car to be here. I’m going frozen deep grey and red with the 951’s. I want frozen pure grey but the wait time might just be ridiculous to order that.

I saw both cars up close at the event and I'm still not convinced about them being the "ultimate driving machines".Maybe they'll grow on me with time but they're already huge.

Despite its flaws, the wagon is undeniably sexy in my opinion. As long as there aren’t any retarded dealer markups the wagon will be a decent value when compared to RS6 Avant and Panamera Turbos.

only redeeming thing I can say about the new m5 is that the wagon looks good from the back.

everything else design-wise is confused and soft lines that remind me of a lot of mundane crossovers on the market.

but of course the big disappointment is the weight.

then again, the m5 is for people who want go damn fast in a straight line.

the 10.8sec 1/4 mile is very impressive when compared to the previous gen’s 11.6ish. that’s like a fairly aggressively tuned f90.

german engineers did a pretty good job of convincing me they can make weight magically not matter when I saw what they did with the mb amg gtr black series.

How often is the meet up at this coffee shop? I’m close by, would love to have a meet up there

I enjoyed the event, Touring looks a lot better then the sedan in person.

This car looks - and is - amazing. Isle of Man Green with Kyalami Orange interior would be my exact preference.

Weight? Not a concern.
