2.99% Financing?

I'm looking to buy a new x4 M40i. There is 2.99% financing until 12/2. The dealer told me that I would need to take delivery by year end (I would be ordering a build).

Any thoughts/predictions as to whether there will be similar deals in Q1 2025? I don't want to take delivery until Jan/Feb 2025 (when my current car will be paid off).

Thanks!

I'd take a guess they are giving a better than normal rate to get an extra sale before year's end. In January they wont' care as much. That doesn't mean they won't offer it, though, but I'd think they'll be less inclined to do so.

Sometimes it's a shell game, you'll get a standard rate but a bigger discount off the car itself (or, one to start with). Either way they figure they'll get your money.

Year end rates tend to be one of the best. 2.99% is pretty good, I'd take it if you are financing; if you gamble and get 1% higher rate in Q1 that will cost you more than a payment over the life of the loan. You take delivery in Dec, but your first payment won't be due until 30-60days.

The flip side is January/February are very slow months for car sales.

Thus while certainly the dealer is offering attractive rates to book a sale before the end of the year a live customer wanting to buy a car in January/February could probably get the same attractive rate.

But of course one won't know for sure until he goes to negotiate a purchase in January.

Garage List
Kind of a gut punch to see that every other m lite model has nice promotional financing but not my m240.
