Can someone help me understand the model numbering here? Why is it still a “G”? Is it effectively the same car as a G80 with a hybrid drivetrain?

Sad that apparently the M4 will be dead with no coupe replacement mentioned anywhere.

The difference between G20 and G50 is likely to be evolutionary, not revolutionary. Same platform, same engines. No reason to choose a code different from whatever's available in the G8x series.

Curious about how this will look. Probably will adopt flat door handles and a boxier look like the M2 and M5. S58 with a hybrid? No manual. Smaller grills?

My hope is that the M5 touring sales compared to sedan are significant enough for them to bring the M3 touring state side!

Although it’s nice, it costs more than double an M3 compX.
$181,000 for a 3 series is just absurd.

They’ve already announced that next gen will come in 2 versions. A fully electric and an ICE with mild hybrid.
I’m looking forward to a sharper boxy design. I really like the straight shoulder lines on the M2.

The sloped and curvier lines on the current M3 feel outdated.

True! The boxy design language from BMW M’s are slowly growing on me.

That’s interesting. I’ve never heard anybody say that, but I’ll take your word for it…
