My Father's Model Toy Collection - Cars/Trucks/Construction/more
Hey All,
My father has been collecting scale models for about 25 years now, and his collection is absolutely massive. I started undertaking the role of photographing his collection, and have dropped all the photos into a updating Flickr album. The photos I have in the album probably represent about about 5-10% of the overall collection. Many of the models will require a larger studio setup, I made a makeshift lightbox while home for Thanksgiving to do the models shown. The collection spans from Cars, to Trucks, to Construction Vehicles, and much more. He has everything from Matchbox quality to the highest quality AUTOart models. Take a look and let me know what you think! Pop's Models |

Those are fantastic looking models - professionally done. I have been building models for 60 years and have been collecting BMW models for over 35 years. I have pretty much stopped collecting now, except for the occasional need to add, like the M4 models. I have a little over 1,200 BMW models and display space is an issue.

Very cool, nice models and photography! It would be cool to get those into a light box for another photo shoot!
Also, that Ferrari model was amazing. I can't believe the drivers legs were that close to the front of the car with minimal protection. Neat that you can take apart the model to see. I would have never known that the driver was really positioned that far forward! |

When you say get them into a lightbox for another photo shoot do you mean just different angles or something? I used a lightbox, just a DIY one. |

I have a special room just for displaying the models, but many are still in boxes in a closet

Oh then dang! I thought they weren't in a light box, their are minimal shadows in the background! Disregard my previous comment!

Terrific collection. And so is the photography.
Are those all from model kits and if so, who's the maker? Looks like a couple of them are from Tamiya and/or Kyosho...?
