Yep! The 737 ft lbs of torque is a transmission limit.

Audi has changed their nomenclature. Now even numbers will be all EV. So the RS6 will be an all electric. The successor to the current RS6 will be the RS7 Avant. The RS6 avant was pretty successful in the US, but it is to be seen if the next generations will come to the US. Because of how the vehicle was classified for EPA purposes, the RS6 got to share some crash testing data from other models. This made the federalizing process much cheaper.

I think Audi will bring it, I don't know what the sales volume is but it's a cash cow and they have zero problems moving them. The market is too hot.

I love the RS6 but there is no way to justify dropping 145-155K on a aging car now assuming dealers aren't still asking ADM price.
Not a factor
I'd take the outdated tech every day over idrive 8 8.5 or 9
Less power? I guess if you ignore all the platforms they shove that engine in and all the aftermarket.
Audi maintenance nightmare? Literally just replace their shitty PCV system and dump the crappy lines. Done. I guess don't peruse the XM forums to see how this s68 turd is going.

Can't believe I'm saying it but Audi RS6 over this heavy boat all day. I can't believe I'm calling something compared to the RS6 a heavy boat.

Cue the usual cope about it not being that noticable, and you aren't tracking it etc.

The EA825 engine in the RS6 can definitely have some issues. Mine dropped a valve and was replaced under warranty at about 6,000 miles. New engine is going strong 20,000 miles later though.

No I get it. I know I never feel as at-home and self-important as when I go over to the Audi forums and tell everyone how wrong they are.

I've been scratching my head since the M5 touring was announced about one thing. Is there something funny going on with how they're calculating cargo capacity or does the M5 touring LITERALLY have half the cargo space of the current E63 wagon? A cursory glance of the videos makes the cargo space look identical to the amount in my E63 wagon, not half. Has the method of measuring changed over the past few years and they're only reporting the cargo space BELOW the cargo cover in the M5 and reporting the total volume behind the seats in the older E63? It makes me think so because their reported space for the sedan is only 2 cubic feet smaller than the wagon...
It makes a lot more sense if they only count what's below the top of the back seatback as "cargo space" in the M5.

G90 M5 Sedan - 16.4 cubic feet of trunk
G99 M5 Wagon - 17.7 cubic feet
S213 E63 Wagon - 35 cubic feet

They HAVE to be only counting the space below the cargo cover. Because the M5 wagon doesn't JUST have 8% more cargo space than a sedan when the E-Class wagon has 85% more space than the sedan. I saw someone saying the X5 was a better family car because it has 34cubic feet of cargo compared to the M5 touring's 18...but that's an unfair comparison if they report the entire volume of the X5 behind the seats and only the space that's basically equivalent to the sedan's trunk in the touring. Just like the E63 wagon actually has MORE cargo space than a GLE.

I just assume there's some new EU regulation that doesn't let them count the ACTUAL volume of a wagon like they used to. It makes me feel crazy when these reviews cite the reported cargo space being barely bigger than the sedan's truck and my eyes are going "WHAT?!?, that's like twice the space".

To each their own I guess. No idea why so many people are hell bent about this M5 as if they are forced to buy it. Especially those not even in the market for a car like this.

I have several friends that are die hard Audi guys so I'm just hearing about all the horror stories they tell me about how most Audi services requires the engine to come out.

Two of them have 2021/2022 RS6 and both have electrical issues with the 48v system.

This right here is my favorite comment of all time lol

Respect though the dude is clearly a car guy and BMW enthusiast, with a very legit garage.

It's interesting to see that a lot of the people defending the G99 drive SUVs now and the people hating the car are coming from various smaller sportscars.

I had the #1 allocation at my dealership & I decided to pass after finding out how heavy this was going to be. You can't hide that kind of weight (at least not yet). Ive owned almost every generation of M3 and a ton of other sportscars. The g99 just doesn't apply to most sportscar enthusiasts. I decided to get a 5V BW over the G99.

telling that some folks are talking about moving from their SUVs to this. it shows demand for the wagon/touring style at least.

idgi, and will happily pass on my reservation.

The only reason I won’t buy one is because it’s out of my price range.

If BMW also offered, say, a 540xi Touring or 550xi Touring, I would do so.

Then again, if BMW offered a 340xi Touring in the States, I would literally already own one now. Two cars ago I owned a 328xi Touring. I would have replaced it with another wagon if they were still sold in the States.

Why do you pick RS6 over G99?
Is it look related comment or what?

I have a 2022 Audi RS6 i purchased brand new. This was my first Audi. Here is a list of issues i had with this car.

Fuel Level Sending Unit
Trunk latch motor
Fuel door release actuator
Passenger speaker rattle
Alternator, vehicle starter system
Central locking malfunction

all covered under warranty. Now imagine having all these issues and you have no warranty on the car. I still have a year warranty left but i will not keep this car after warranty.

i've driven an RS6 Performance and a base RS6... i'll go ahead and say for the amount of praise they get, they were both a massive disappointment... it's fast but it doesn't feel fast because well it weighs 4900 lbs lol.. my x3 m40i somehow felt more nimble as it is a smaller vehicle overall... then you add in the fact that rear seat space is quite small... it somewhat defeats the purpose of the vehicle... now w the G99, imagine that it is 1K lbs heavier, now how does everyone expect this to go?

well, Rory below explains that really well...

I have that engine in my 2023 S8, and at 9000 miles it had a cylinder misfire and needed a new injector. Not a huge deal, it was covered under warranty... but my F90 M5 had zero service issues in 3 years.

The part that pisses me off is the Audi dealer spilled gas when changing the injector and now my car smells like gasoline. It's been over a month and the odor still is noticeable when I go into my garage. Glad it's just a lease.

I had an F31 that I loved to pieces, but didn’t want to own the N20 long term, plus got bored with the 4 cylinder. I’d have a straight six wagon in a heartbeat (even an executive version) if they would just bother to sell them here. Maybe the M5 wagon will justify bringing an M3 wagon here next time around…

Out e91 is one of our favorite cars of all time. It is near perfect. When I pulled the intake out to replace oil housing seal the internals looked like the engine had never been fired. Back window opens. The engine rips to 7k rpm with zero vibration, simple interior, no nav screen, and awesome proportions. Those days seem long gone.

RS 7 Avant will replace it and be a TTV6+PHEV targeting similar 700+hp as the M5, no more V8 so if you want a V8 now's the time to get the RS 6 Avant Performance.
