Angry Annoyed?!?

Hi all. Is it me, or have you noticed the large number of annoying drivers, based on certain make/models?

For me, lately it has been Toyotas (Corolla, Camry, Avalon), Hondas (Civics & Accords), and Nissans (Altimas and Sentras).

These drivers tend to do the following:
1.) Drive slower than the flow of traffic, regardless what lane they're on.
2.) Make silly last minute decisions (turns, exits off freeways, etc.).
3.) Block all lanes of traffic with cars next to them.

It's not like I have road rage, but when folks are OBSTRUCTING our view and way of life to drive, they really stir up ignorant into their vocab...don't you all agree? Share your stories here as well

I think it's just a factor of a population increase, more teen drivers, more txt messaging, more phones, and most of all, the increase in the selfish, self-centered, self-absorbed drivers on the road. I'm with you on that one, it seems to be the japanese sedans that get in the way, along with the ever increasing number of large SUVs, like the suburban class grocery getters.

Corollas are the worst. Always a driver who is spaced out doing 5 less than the speed limit.

haha ... wait till you see the montreal cabbies. they drop a passenger off. and instead of going round the block they back up on a one way street so that they can get out to the main street faster... happens in my neighbourhood all the time...

Its you... Pure coincidence that a specific make/model has more annoying drivers. any driver can be annoying in any car

I have had BMWs in front of me do that too. regardless, although going slow may be safer, it is very annoying with the feeling someone else is deciding how you drive.

Try driving behind these drivers on a wide open freeway (like 5lanes wide), only for them to apparently block all lanes of traffic, w/ no regards to allowing other drivers through. It's common around here, esp w/ folks on cellphones or reading novels as they drive. Don't hate... appreciate!

Around here, EVERYONE does those things. And I don't think Camry and Accord drivers are slower around here -- I can't count the number of Camry, Accord, or Civic drivers I've seen driving way too fast for conditions or their ability to react if they needed to.

You're in Texas? When I was in Houston, Texas, the differences I noticed versus traffic around here: (1) people absolutely FLY on the freeway over there (around here, 70 mph = ticket is a certainty if you're caught); (2) people actually move over into the shoulder to let you pass if there is no passing lane (I've never seen that anywhere else); (3) you have tons of handheld cell phone users driving cars while holding the phone. Houston highways were crowded, but a lot less than I'm used to. Popo was almost nowhere to be seen (here, they're around every corner).

Welcome to my turf buddy Here in H-Town (Houston). To comment to your stuff....

1.) Here, 70mph is probably the minimal average speed. You'll see us generally in the 80-90mph zone.
2.) That must of been a lucky day for you... b/c regularly that's not the case, unless you're in Austin.
3.) Yup, it's almost a natural habit around here to be on the phones; sadly not all people are created equal...so we have too many clueless ones on the roads, thus causing our congested traffic.

The driving slow part doesn't bother me, it's the place they do it. Left lane is for passing / fast drivers only. Even if I'm doing 85, I'll pull to the right to let a faster car through. Why can't others?

Also, the DMV driver's test is a joke....make it harder, much harder! Put these people on a track and put them in some panic situations. Weed out the people who can't drive safely or with no courtesy.

I don't think its necessarily the cars. Its the people who buy them. All the cars you listed come from the same place

That's where the tollways come handy -- keeps the 'budgeted minds' from congesting these freeways. I've got to give my city some props at times when they bump up the toll fees over and over...gets less congested everytime. How about your area, everyone? Do you beg to differ?

You may be falling into the stereotype that all bmw drivers are a holes. Reminds me of the joke: what's the difference between a bmw driver and a porcupine? On the porcupine the pricks are on the outside. haha

I've seen drivers on the road driving bmws and mercedez who drive like shat all the time.

Yes, the people in small cars and hybrids. They all drive 50 in the fast lane. And the speed limit is 60-70.

And they also like to cruise next to 18-wheelers for some odd reason.
