SANDALS vacation: opinions? suggestions?
My fiance and I are thinking of taking a Sandals vacation in Antiguia. Any comments/suggesions on Sandals vacations (i.e. get the butler service worth the money? OR stay in this type of room/suite? OR thoughts about the Antiguia resort?).
We have never gone on a Sandals cruise and our travel agent wasn't too informative. Figured my fellow e90 posters would have some good info for us. Thanks!

One of the smaller Sandals is where we stayed in Jamaica, mahn. Since then I won't do any vacation where it isn't all-inclusive.
I liked the small resort because we got to know the service personnel, and they hooked us up and made us feel almost like family. |

Antigua is a beautiful place, and the Sandals vacation there is quite nice. everyone there is friendly and warm, so im pretty sure you will enjoy it. allthough, i must say, Cayman Islands is simply my favorite carribean island, but thats because im a diver and the reefs there are next best to austrailia.
trust me, if you have the money, go to Grand Cayman (albeit, its pricey)

I just used my rough idea of what food and drinks would cost, in general, and we make out on the all-inclusive. I could just walk up to one of mnay bars, order whatever I wanted, and walk away. There were multiple nicer restaurants, or just hit the buffet feed trough, plus the snack shacks any time you had an urge. The only additional expenses were some of the attractions, and specialty call bottles of wine in the restaurants. Oh, and trinkets to return home.

You might be firmly decided on going to Antigua... but have you considered French Polynesia? My wife and I went to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora, with stops in Sydney, Australia, and Auckland, NZ. We used http://www.islandsinthesun.com and we were very pleased.

My wife and I stayed ten days at Sandals Dunns River, Jamaica. It was great! We didn't have butler service. I don't know why I would need that.
I highly recommend the all inclusive resort vacation. Antiqua should be really nice. |

My fiance and I have booked the Sandals Grande St. Lucia. My brother and sister-in-law and my fiances cousin and her husband both went there and loved it so it made it a easy decision for us.
We went with the ocean view honeymoon penthouse with concierge service. We couldn't see the point of paying the extra fee for the butler service. The only issue is the flights there are during shitty hours.

Since she is your fiance, have you considered just getting married at the resort? That's where my wife and I had our wedding at Sandals, Dunns River. I thought it worked out very well.
