Reading Canon format on SD card

Anyone know of a way, BESIDES all the Canon software, that I can read my SD card with XP if I am taking the images in RAW ( I think) format? I swiched formats on the camera, and now when I pull up the SD card on my reader, it tells me the DCIM folder is unreadable or corrupted.

It could be that your SD card is incompatible with your reader. Was it working in the reader before?

Try backing up the contents of your card then formating the card in the Camera as opposed to in Windows.

I read from the card before, but with a different reader. I put the card in at least 4 different readers of different qualities on different machines, and tehy all responded teh same. That is what leads me to beleive since I switched to RAW format, it doesn't have files that Windoze can read. Kinda like drag/drop to CD and you don't have the right CD format on the next system you go to.

Try reformatting the card. First in the Camera, if that doesn't work, try in Windows.

The card is fine in the camera, there are some 200 pictures in it, and I can see them all on the view screen.
