MotoGP Season Finale: Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana (Nov 9th 2014)

Wow!! What an amazingly FAST season that was! We are already looking to only one more race for 2014. Marc Marquez has had a phenomenal season with tons of ups and a few downs (literally)

Both of the Yamaha guys - Lorenzo and Rossi - have struggled for the couple P1 finishes they achieved but managed to consistently end somewhere on the podium.

On November 9th, the MotoGP Season Finale will commence in the form of the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana. We will also see Suzuki's new bike race in the MotoGP finale!

Here are all your details thus far:

Circuit info

Length: 4.005 m / 2.489 miles
Width: 12m
Left corners: 9
Right corners: 5
Longest straight: 876 m / 0.544 miles
Constructed: 1999
Laps: 30
Distance: 120.2 km - 74.7 miles

Introduction:

The Circuito de la Comunitat Valenciana was completed in 1999 and held rounds of the MotoGP and Spanish Motorcycle Championships in the same year. The Cheste track has several layouts, running anti-clockwise with varying lengths. MotoGP events are held on a 4km track comprising of five right handed corners, eight left handers and a 650m straight. Although the track is regarded as quite small, the pit complex contains 48 garages whilst the stadium style grandstands can seat up to 150,000 spectators. The circuit layout which allows all parts of the circuit to be seen from any stand helps to create a unique atmosphere enjoyed by Spanish and international riders alike and as the last race of the season there is always a party feeling to the Grand Prix, which was voted best GP of 2005 by IRTA.

MotoGP Malaysia: Marquez: Pressure has eased for Valencia record bid
27 October 2014

Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez victorious in punishing race held in stifling heat at Sepang to raise prospect of new premier class record at Valencia in November (Read it here: http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/210...-valencia.html)

<----- DIFFICULTY FOR THE BRAKING SYSTEM ----->
MEDIUM!
This is a track that is run anticlockwise, characterized by tight curves and short straight stretches where many low gears are used. It is an average demanding track for the braking system where the greatest hidden dangers are caused precisely by the difficulty of cooling the brakes because of the short straight stretches.

Suzuki MotoGP team hire Aleix Espargaro, Maverick Vinales to race in their 2015 comeback season

THE final piece of Suzuki’s return to MotoGP has been confirmed with Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales announced as their riders for the 2015 season.

The Japanese manufacturer will return to the world championship as a full-time, factory backed entry next year, ending a three-year absence from the grid.

The new bike, christened the GSX-RR, was officially unveiled at the Intermot Fair in Germany on Tuesday, where the team confirmed its rider line-up.

Espargaro and Vinales fit the brief outlined by team manager Davide Brivio, who aimed to recruit two young riders; one fast, experienced gun alongside a rising star.

Espargaro will lead the team next year, the announcement coming off the back of him finishing second at the Aragon MotoGP, a career best in what has been a breakthrough season for the Spaniard.

Vinales, the reigning Moto3 champion, will make the step up to the sport’s top class after spending a single season in Moto2 where has won two grand prix, including the most recent Moto2 race at Aragon.

Suzuki also confirmed they will compete as a wildcard entry in the final MotoGP round of 2014 at Valencia, as revealed by SPEED in June.

Suzuki will also hire John Hopkins as a consultant to teach the riders how to lean the bike against a wall and kick it repeatedly after the engine fails.

After this race, Paul Bird Racing is withdrawing from MotoGP to instead focus on Superbikes. Parkes has not said what he willdo yet but my guess is to stay on with PBR in the other series. Laverty will ride for Aspar Honda
