Macworld
Anyone have any scoops about Macworld next week? Better yet, who is going? I am not and have never been to one. I wonder if Apple will have a Ipod nano that can hold more then 8GB?

New MacBooks/iTunes Rentals @Macworld
I can't speak to a larger capacity iPod nano, however it is anticipated that Apple will intro an ultra-portable MacBook (sans optical drive) that will incorporate aspects of the iPhone's multi-touch capability, and a new version of iTunes that will provide movie rentals. That said, Steve Jobs is famous for his "...one more thing" coda to every keynote, so its anyone's guess what else is in store. Check out http://arstechnica.com/journals/apple for the latest updates on Apple.

I am guessing nothing Major, atleast nothing major that will be released within a month.
Most likely major stuff that will take more than a few months to come out. Most likely a new ipod though since they love making new ones every 6 months.

I think it's possible a new Apple Cinema Display is on the way. It is a bit long in the tooth.

Definitely a light weight portable with solid state storage, so no Hard Drive, it may or may not include the touch technology form the iphone.
They already intro the 8core processor Desktop unit. Probably no Ipod updates sine they were all done in September. There will be probably some software updates maybe ilife The "oh one more thing" will probably something around the iphone, new features or a 3G version or a reduce feature lower cost product. |

Yeah...I have been waiting to see something official about the ultra portable. Although...I must admit that I am not completely sold on no optical drive just yet....gotta see what they come up with.

I don't think there's gonna be anything really big announced. I find Apple generally waits a good year or two before releasing anything breakthrough after to the launch of something big, i.e. the iPhone. Matt |

I also like to see a new cinema display but I don't think there is one for I am guessing that they don't sell a whole lot of them being that they are realy pricey. I think the cinema displayed are mainly for those in the film industry or for those who like watching movies on computer.

The huge buzz in the tech world is how they are releasing a really slim laptop and even patents recently where it showed a laptop going inside the imac.
Basically docking your laptop in the imac since it will be so small and lightweight. Is this something they will just mention and go over? Or will there be something to show? Who knows could just be all R&D. Truthfully, I'm good. Unless they release something crazy I probably wont be interested. I've got my itouch and might be getting a mac laptop if I can afford it somehow. But otherwise I really dont deal with Apple.

We will have to see how it holds up now. The ipod which including the itouch and then the iphone were great additions. But lets see what happens for the next year or two.
I personally dont find putting a laptop in the imac appealing. Although its no lie that at this current point no matter what apple releases that is new it will get high praise if its halfway decent. Just due to their popularity and such.

Same here. These are old news but I like the magnetic wire and I heard that the imac is constructed using lots of recycled product.

I know this is slightly off topic, but since you guys seems to have the latest scoop, do you have any idea when a bigger capacity touch is going to be available? Some people at macrumors said that February was a possible time, but others disagree. I really want the touch, but can't justify $400 for only 16gb. Any insight?

If not 16gig should be fine. I just sold my 8gig to get the 16gig. I still had 3gigs free even after quite a bit of songs and some videos and tons of applications. I really dont need to upgrade considering a lot of the songs I could easiyl delete since I dont listen to them. Most likely there will be a iTouch upgrade within a few months. But also keep in mind you can easily sell the itouch 16gig on ebay for near 400 incase a larger capacity comes out. I sold my ipod video for $250 I bought it for $300 when it first came out and the itouch was out and everything. So people will pay even if there is something new.

I'm still undecided about jailbreaking. Are the extra apps you can add really worth it? I guess I need to do more research on it. What sort of apps are available? Thanks for the ebay tip, I never really thought about selling it when another comes out. I guess I thought it would depreciate more. Thanks for the reply!

Any news on a 2nd generation iPhone?
I just picked up a 2.2 ghz Macbook and an 8 gb nano, and lets just say the apple bug has bitten me pretty hard. I would like to pickup an iPhone, but dont want to grab the current version if a new one is on the horizon (i know the current one has been out for less than a year, but they release new products pretty quickly)
