Best Ski resort around MD, PA, DC?
Hey guys,
I'm in MD for school right now, and was wondering if anyone knew any good mountains in this area... I'm pretty good at snowboarding, so i don't want to get "bored" on little bunny slopes. Also, a terrain park would be great as I often go on rails, jumps, and the pipe. Any suggestions/recommendations would be great!!! I heard of three thus far... and they are, Ski liberty, whitetail, and elkridge... all of which, i believe, is in PA. Any feedback about these resorts would be great! thanks in advance!! |

Take a drive. Try SnowShoe in WV or HolidayValley or Peak and Peak in western NY. Your next option would take a longer drive and hit up Vail or the other numerous places through NH and VT

You can be in SLC or Summit County, CO in less than the time it would take to drive some places in the east. Riding in the east sucks compared to the Rockies.

Since you asked for the best resort in that area, I would say it is Snowshoe, WV.
Yes, it will take you about 4-5 hours to climb up there, depending on the road conditions. Snowshoe has come a long way, has great runs and many lifts, and is probably not badly crowded this time of the year. Accommodation is great... The only problem is the snow since the peak is at 4848 ft... |

The closest one is Liberty. But gets too crowded and it's boring.
Next will be White Tail. Close to MD and less boring. Those are the only ones I go for a ski day. Anything else is a 3ish hour drive: Deep Creek in MD Camel back in PA Shawnee in PA

I've heard good things about seven springs. I have made a day trip to deep creek before, its small but has some nice trails.
