Theyre definitely zippy cars- very go-kart like. Test drove one along the Scion FRS.
And I don't think its aftermarket tail lights. I've seen stock ones with exact same outline. Buuut, theyre very slow. No HP in the top range. And very tight interior. Even though it has 4 seats, the rear are virtually not usable. My dad could had to squeeze out the door, literally.

This has been discussed (and debated) and what this car lacks in performance it makes up for in other areas. It's good see a "drivers" car hit the market and be successful.

Only successful because young kids buy them because its "cheap" and "sporty".
The car is not fast in a straight line at all. My wifes 4 banger Camry could run neck and neck with the BRZ/FRS. Only thing it does is handle well. |

Your dad must be pretty damn fat. The Cosworth kit from the UK sorts out a lot of the performance issues.

I traded in my 135i for a 2013 BRZ. Agreed, they are slow as molasses, until you do what I did, and add a big turbocharger, big fuel pump, big injectors, 3'' titanium exhaust, methanol injection, controlled by a standalone ECU. 2500lbs and 350whp is respectable.
Now, my little BRZ will give almost anything on the street a run for it's money. |

Anyway, I don't get the complaining for HP. GT86 was built with tuning in mind. Not cosmetics like most cars. No coded ECU like BMW or Lexus, but open ECU so that you can tune you bolt-on super- turbocharger.
The BRZ in OP looks stock however, judging by the exhaust tips. |
