"Star Trek 3" will unite old and new "Trek" when it premieres ahead of the 50th anniversary of the classic show.

Director of the first two rebooted "Trek" movies JJ Abrams has jumped ship to take over the "Star Wars" series, beginning with next December's "Episode VII: The Force Awakens".

It's also been confirmed that Justin Lin, the man in charge of the "Fast and the Furious" series of movies, will take the helm.

I think I read that JJ will stay on as producer, but either way I'm in

I hope they are careful if they want to bring back the old cast to this upcoming movie. It was hard enough trying to reboot the series in some way that made sense. Now that there is a new cast and plots available, I don't want some lazy mish mash of characters.
