Question Are you as Fit as your F80 or F82

Since starting the new year with thoughts of improvement I was wondering what is the general well being of M owners. I am ordering my M4 in April. I ask how well are you in your physical and mental? Is it as good as the performance of your car? How in tune are you with your physique is it better than how well you car can communicate with itself? Can you run the 100m dash in under 11s? Are your lines like your car or a muffin?

I cannot run fast anymore, and have found my cardio levels are severely lagging. I am looking more like a blueberry muffin. I am working more, but giving up nothing to afford my dream car.

I am going to emulate certain aspects of the car I order, which is to be a little more streamlined and running physically better than I do now.

So, are you as high performance as the car you own or strive to own?

15 years of figure skating with all the bs involved with it. The only thing that could get me into a gym again is that I won't fit into my car.

Well, as long as we're confessing ... I've slipped since October and my ED trip. During those 2 weeks i did no workouts and ate mostly pastries. And the occasional box of neuhaus. Ok, fine, a lot of pomme frites too.

Of course then there was thanksgiving and then christmas and new years... and I still haven't gotten my shiz together. And I have to travel next week so ...

Anyway, this is all a long way of saying that peanut butter filled pretzels are super tasty.

Am I as high performance as the car I drive? - absolutely not. But I'd hazard to guess that I'm in better shape than 99% of guys my age.

Just check out this physique (and I'm barely flexing):

Well I did the FL Ironman in November, but have put on #15 since then. Getting back on a training grid this week as have a half marathon in Feb and a Half Ironman back half of 2015. Taking a break this year as the full Ironman training literally makes your whole life stop otherwise.

Hey I was IMFL as well (4th IM and 2nd FL). Terrible conditions and toughest bike ride of all the IM bikes I have done. IM training is very time consuming and will start training again in a few weeks for IM MD in October. (I drove back from FL to MD on Tuesday and then hit the track for a driving event 3 days later). I gain 15-25 lbs every winter and then once hibernation is over it takes a couple of months to take off the weight.

Did IMAZ, and two Vinemans (iron distance, non iron branded), as well as a number of halfs and olys. Love the bike ride, despise swimming, and running is meh.

Autocorrect helped you with the jump. As a huge milk drinker, a triple cow would be doable nowadays rather than a triple Salchow.

Tons of respect for the Ironman guys/gals here. My wife is a triathlete and that takes dedication and perseverance. I sometimes feel she's cheating on me with her training, it just sucks so much time away.

I play tennis. Have since I was in middle school. I'd consider myself a pretty good player, but I know at least one other guy on this forum that would thrash me. Kennypowers is in great shape and a heck of a competitor on the court.

Nice! I have heard Vineman is awesome. They cancelled our swim at FL this year, so a bunch of us are targeting Chattanooga in 2016 (then nothing again with "full" at the beginning!). I love the half IM distance. I have become a good swimmer somehow after despising it myself. Need to improve on the bike comparative to the guys I workout with (did 6:00 at FL with 30+ MPH winds) and solid runner.

ABSOLUTELY! I run eight fitness centers so it kind of goes with the territory!

Besides, You keep your car looking and running top notch, why wouldn't you do the same for yourself!

Fit as an F80 or F82

Hmmmm...what if you don't have an F80? Then I guess these rules don't apply to E9X owners right?
But since you asked...I can't do the 100m dash in under 11s...NEVER could...
My lines? Why do you have to bring up my wrinkles???
But my brain is certainly showing higher performance...sometimes I think the aging process is more about acceptance and gratitude for what tradeoffs we get...slower physically but more wise mentally and emotionally
