Considering G37S
I know I am going to get flamed here...but after recently totalling my e92 335i on 12/11/07 I am currently shopping for a new ride. Now for me to lease a new 335i coupe it is going to run me somewhere in the mid 700 range on a monthly payment if I do zero down. I was paying 647.55 after having put down my taxes, bank fee, first payment, and security deposit which came to $4200.
I only had my car for 14 months and I am not about to put down another 4200 on a new car again. I have been toying with the notion of leasing a G37S. Only because it is alot of value for the money, they lease great I can get into a fully loaded G37S with prem, sport, tech, rear spoiler etc with an MSRP of 43k for Zero out of pocket $519 a month. I loved my e92 but a mid to high 7 payment doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me when I can get a relatively comparable car for about $250 less. Now I will say that if I compare the cars performance, looks, interior and exterior the e92 335i wins in every category. Also I have some parts to customize a 335i (vorsteiner decklid, OEM front lip, JB2 etc.) but the difference in price has really got me second guessing jumping into another 335 coupe. I know you guys are gonna flame, and I am not saying I am considering the G because I think it is a better car, I am saying that it is a great value for the money...and that has got me strongly considering it. I'll prolly end up with another e92 335i cuz I don't think I will be happy with a G..I really am confused as to what I should do. I am going to test drive a G37S 6MT today...from there decide. Also another negative for the G is I went onto a G forum just looking around and most of the guys seem like a bunch of terds lol...JDM'ing the cars out and putting silly Assante wheels etc. So that is a huge negative. I really have enjoyed going to BMW meets and meeting everyone and enjoying the tasteful mods that we all have done...but from a value standpoint I am having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that if aI don't pont up some cash again on the downpayment I am going to have a rediculous payment.

okay joking aside, G37 is a nice car. slow as dog, but still nice car. u gonna hate ur life, and hate everybody around you, you might go postal, and might shoot ur coworkers, or be in a depression for the rest of your life, but THAT'S OKAY.
now, if you can afford to wait, wait until M3 comes out. coz the money factor and residual for 335 are gonna change resulting in a lease payment decrease |

If you won't later regret getting the G37 then do it. The cost saving is huge so you have to seriously consider the Infiniti. It's a damn fine car and only pales next to the supremely wonderful 335i.
Thanks, Mike. |

It's not a 335 but it's still a VERY nice car and good value for the money. It'll just be "different" . Can you get used to "different"? Or will you miss your BMW too much?

On the one hand, there's no way a 335 is worth $700/mo, that's way too much (I don't care what BMWFS says and juggles). Who would pay that on a car with a base of 40,800?
If a G37 is $250 less per mo., that's better, but are you saying that's north of $500? Again, who would pay that much for a G37? If it were me and those were my choices, I'd say I reserve the right to not pay those crazy numbers and I'd probably get an Accord knowing I could buy it in the mid 300's. I'd miss a 335 after having it for 14 mos. like you did, but it doesn't mean I'd pay any amount to get it back....my .02. |

Look around in the ads of your local paper. South motors in miami had their remaining fully loaded except for gps 07 335's for 399 per month a+ credit 3800 down. I think you can find some good deals if you look for them

One of my good friend's has basically the same exact G37S as you are thinking about buying and he is always drooling over my car. My take is- what is $250/mo in extra payments for happiness? In lieu of the fact that we are all BMW buyers here I would think that an extra $250 isn't all that big a deal....my .02- BMW all the way.

I just don't know if I can deal with driving a g37s for 3 years. I don't really love the car..just considering it from a value standpoint...but to lease a new 335i right now with zero down is just retarded... But I have also been strongly considering taking over someone elses lease (mantis and a few others I have been looking at) still waiting for my asshole insurance company to pay off my wreck.

Trick,
Good luck with your selection. The G37 is a great car and really is the best car in it's class if you are looking for the best value and most bang for your buck. I honestly would've went with them if they stuck with the original concept. As an FYI, here in Cali dealers are selling them at invoice. I have a friend that just got a 6mt fully loaded at invoice, plus $500 mfr. rebate that is available somewhere online. Pretty indicative of G37 sales right now huh? |

Despite what people on here say about handling / performance it is comparable to the 335i. The interior and electronics are better IMO. I would go G37S hands down with the unmbers you trew out.
Let's give the G forums a chance... ever seen T-Bone or his butt puppy e90ice on here? You have it everywhere. Mantis is big on 6mt.net and he is alright. :

BMW was/is selling M Coupes and M Roadsters at $12,000 off MSRP and had a $7,500 mfr. rebate. What is your point?

Uhhhh we aren't talking about M coupes or M roadsters, we are talking about the G37 correct? The OP talked about his pricing with MSRP numbers. These cars are going 3k below MSRP at least! WTF is your point?

That's a considerable chunk of change between leasing the two cars. I loved the technology in the g37, but then again that was about it.
Forget them both and go for an S5 |

What about a C350? It's also cheaper and a damn fine car, just not fast. If possible, you should hold out for the new A4 to come out. See how that fairs. If you're really wanting that driving part, then you should probably leave em out and stick to looking at the G37s and 335i.
Hope you have some luck with pricing.
