Just about to load up some COD4 then play some Rock Band, but the three "RED RING OF DEATH" came back.

I should be up and running in 3 weeks.

It happens a lot to 360's. Somehow I've been lucky so far, got a launch console but it hasn't died on me yet. Perhaps because I don't play it that often due to PC games being far superior.

6th one here... last 4 were for the same problem they never fixed.. call, wait for box, ship back, wait, open... broke... rinse and repeat 4 TIMES!!??!?!

finally they sent me a refurb, and it's working.

I got a refurb right off the bat as a replacement. At least they are giving me and extra month of LIVE to compensate. Still not enough IMO.

I just sent my 360 back to microsoft a few weeks ago and got it back yesterday. They basically said in the paper they couldn't fix it and gave me a new one lol. They also gave me a 1 month xbox live card I guess to replace the month I lost while my 360 was broken. 3 week turnover isn't too bad, when I asked the customer service guy when I called them about a shipping issue, he told me the average turnaround was 2 months.

Mines about a year old and still works fine. I try to keep it well ventilated. I even bought the intercooler thing so that's been on it since day 1, I wonder if it's helped at all?

Intercooler is known to fry the power brick. Careful with that.

Mine has been gutted and water cooled. Knock on wood, its 20degC cooler and hasnt remotely come close to dying yet.

I also leave it on the system console menu for a while after I'm done gaming to let it cool down.

Well my condolences lol. My 360 Elite died late Jan. Got the red ring [of death]. It came on normally after a restart but would continuously crash. So I send it in, they send a brand new replacement ~2 weeks later (couldn't fix mine apparently).

I was out of town so my bro plugs it in and can't get the wireless controllers to connect... the next day he turns it on to try again and the lights no longer work on the 360 but it comes on, and now the power cable light is Orange. All this on a new replacement. So we call support and they send us out another box and a free game from some limited selection (we chose Project Gotham 3) and this time they tell us they believe our power cable shorted the 360 and asked us to pack that along with the new box they'll send us.

So now I've been without the 360 for close to 2 months! And fitting the whole power cable box in that shipping box along with the 360 wasn't easy.
