So what BMW models come with this warning light and what does it mean?

Polizei bmw models have this warning light! It's for securing their "long" weapon. Pretty cool!

Never leave home without one. If the natives start getting restless here again in STL, I'll be back to keeping one of my Benelli M4s in the trunk.

Yes both Polizei and BMW security cars come with more electronics specific to the duties of each vehicle. For example a more powerful battery and back up source for additional electronic devices.
