2016 Viper ACR - "fastest viper EVER" - UPDATE 11/4/15

2016 Viper ACR, capable of 1.5G cornering grip and up to 1 TON of downforce at 177 mph!!!! This thing is on a completely different level than anything a manufacturer has ever released.

I think it might have a shot at breaking the 7:00 mark on the nurburgring...

UPDATE:
http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...8-spyder-video

New ACR sets 13 lap records. Beating out the P1 and 918 for literally 10% of the price. What an awesome machine!!!

What a monster, it's a shame there are so few of these on the road.

I REALLY like the new viper. Very cool looking car. I'd love to get behind the wheel of one.

Gorgeous car and a beast of a machine.

The reason there are not more on the road is because people have a hard time wrapping their head around paying $110k for a Dodge. My dealership (we have a Jeep GC) is a high volume dealer so they are allotted the most Vipers of any other dealer in the area. They HATE it because they just sit on the lot collecting dust for months and months and they end up having to discount them heavily to move them.

Honestly, unless you own a concrete company in the mid-west and have a tribal tattoo, you kind of look like a tool driving one of these... and it's a shame because they are awesome cars.

+1
A local dealership has had a 2014 Viper GTS sitting for so long on the showroom floor that it missed the $10K price reduction and now that the battery has gone dead, they don't even know how to open the car since the doors are electric release and that's where the hood release is as well!

This car will no doubt be EXTREMELY quick on the track. More than likely faster than the vast majority of super cars save the 918, P1 or LaFerrari. It'll be quicker than the Z06 too. That wing and front splitter help make an enourmous amount of grip (I race a BMW with aero on it).
The problem is, they're only going to sell a handfull of them and they will have bone jarring rides, so yes King, you're right about the tribal tatoo

I've always been very fond of Vipers, and I love the way these look. Agree with others that it's a shame you don't see more of them on the road.

Although, the few people I've met who owned a Viper, I wasn't to keen of.

I love vipers and I have driven a very highly modified previous gen ACR and they are monsters stock! I'm looking forward to seeing what this can do soon!

You're underestimating this car as far as it's track prowess. It will probably best a 918 on the nordshleife.

The NSX hasn't been faster than its competition... ever.

I think I could pull off a tribal tattoo, I've got some big guns and am kind of a tool anyway.

Question is could I take my wife out for a nice date night in a Viper ACR? That might be a tough one.

I smell a price tag above $200k before the "premium" dealers will add.

I also don't see a next gen GT-R Nismo beating this car. Maybe on a short, tight track.

2010 acr-x started at $110k. With the price drop and additional equipment being primarily aestheticexcept for those CCB I see a starting price of $125k - $135k. This puts it just above the z06 which is where the viper has always been located.

"Unveiled last week at the revamped Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit, the American Club Racer model of the iconic, hand-built American supercar will have a starting U.S. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $117,895 (excluding destination and gas guzzler tax)."

dealer markup will be quite a bit, considering that Non TA Vipers with options ran around 130-140k from the dealer not long ago (probably have gone down since). Though I am interested to see where this sits after about 5 months price wise. It is absolutely beautiful though!
