Another sub 7min Nurburgring time

Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV clocks sub 7 minute Nurburgring lap

During P Zero Corsa tyre development tests with Pirelli - the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce presented at the 85th International Motor Show in Geneva - has completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit tearing down the wall of the mythical 7-minute.

Very impressive, but where the time started and where it ended aren't the same place. I watched a few other videos, the 918 did the same. Time starts right before the first turn and ends right after the last turn. The 599xx and the Zonda started and finished from the same point.

Is that a production car thing? Because if they started and finished from the same point, both the 918 and the SV would have been over 7 minutes.

You know what it feels like if you've been on a plane taking off before it actually leaves the ground. Your perception of the feeling due to proximity of the trees might be different, but if you were calm, it would feel the same.

Noooot really. I've done well over 200 in 3 cars, and you are lower to the ground and that gives you a different feeling then in a plane. Also a plane doesn't hit 200 on a runway. Usually around the 160 mark is when it takes off.

That is impressive for a Aventador. This model isn't exactly known for it's handling. Seems they are really stepping up their game. I'd expect a better time with Trofeo Rs too

It's not really a production vs non-prod thing. In order to run the full lap they have to shut down the track, so most tests are run the shorter length during industry testing days where any manufacturer could be coming on/off the track. Barely anyone ever tests the full lap so when people say Nurburgring times, they usually mean the shorter lap. There's some more info about it on the Nurburgring times wiki page.

Oh ok, thanks. Seems the length is listed next to the laps on wiki. That actually shuffles the times around a bit since there are quite a few cars that have fun the longer track which is about 7 seconds longer, according to the wiki page.

Edit: nvm, not worth getting into it. Glad you've done "well over 200" in all those cars. Please tell us more about your exotics professional test driving career.

And most people who only are a passenger only know how it feels on a plane from looking out the side window and not the cockpit looking out.

I've done 180-190 numerous times on my R1s and comparing it to a car doing 155-160....feels the same. Can't same for airplanes as I've only been a passenger.

Hell, doing 30 MPH in a boat feels like you're going 100! Thats the real mind smurf.

Biggest and baddest Lamborghini on the biggest baddest scariest track. Holy fcuck, that's not your average weekend track warrior behind the wheel putting down a sub 7 in that car. Nice driving, respect.

That guy can seriously wheel! How the 918 is barely faster with more hp/tq/tech is beyond me!
