CTS-V $100K

Not anything major but the CTS-v Build your own is up.

Hmm.. Don't know if I would spend 100K even if it cost less than Z-Germans only 86 lol

Mine came to 92k no thanks. It's going to be fast but not my cup of tea.

What do the Germans have that compete with it from a performance and tech standpoint at the same money?

The rear and rear 3/4 look boring. The rest of the car looks ok.

M5 is at 100,895 with no options selected when you bring it up on the car builder. About at least 110-120K depending on your options.

Not correct. For some reason BMW is auto selecting individual leather interior for 5k and another option. You can still get a base example in the low 90's. That said your point is still valid because to option them equally, the M5 is significantly more expensive.

I'd rather get a fully loaded ATS-V.

CTS/-V moved up a class( it's proper class). The ATS/-V now occupies the CTS's previous pricing segment.

Faster, 100 more HP, lighter, etc?

Sometimes it seems hard for Cadillac to do anything right. Lots of people are stuck in stereotypes of how the interior is or other things that just don't hold up anymore, as the have improved their game and they are nothing like cars from the last 40 years. Seems like they are targeting the M5 pretty squarely with this, but the performance might be a few ticks better.

Its 86k. I was able to get to $100,430 by selecting every possible option (including two different types of first aid kits)

By contrast, the m5 is 101k with no options and 115 well optioned. I think a 15% difference is very competitive for Caddy to have the better engine, suspension and weight.

All the cars you could buy 2-3 years old with low miles for that kind of money. No way.

Well, the M5 depreciates a lot. Look at the prices of 2013 models. Already in the $50K range.

I think its an awesome car. I had built one using that the other day and came out around $96k if I remember correctly. While its certainly crazy how expensive they have gotten it definitely puts them up another level to compete against the M5. I was surprised when I saw the start price, but it is a lot of car.

I'd rather drive an M5 or S6. I have beat the piss out of the M5 at the track and I see lots of issues with this motor in the Z06 when tracked

What gets me is how the C7 Z06 is right at the same price as the C6 Z06 was.

They "up'd" the class for the CTS-V because they want to compete with whatever so they decide to make the price the same too which is completely dumb.

You'll find these 3rd gen V's in the $50 range with under 10k miles in a couple of years just like the 2nd gen V's are.

Oh and no manual? Really?

But you can get the ATS-V in manual which is killer.

Huh? it starts at 86k and is pretty well equipped... I wouldn't get any options since most are cosmetic... Also as on many Cadillac CTS's, there will be like 8k+ if not 10k discounts a few months from now so it ends up being maybe a 78k car, similar to the price of a S6 but with better performance.

Best would be to wait a couple years and buy a low mileage loaded used one in the 50's...

I would definitely not buy these new given their depreciation.
