Don't go near it.

I had a 2014 and it was an amazing car. It had everything from looks to power to features. The only downside was the build quality really. It isn't as solid as an x5 lets say but hey, for $30K less you can't complain.

I currently have a 2013 x5 Msport 3.5. how would you say the steering, brakes and overall handling of the srt compare to the x5 msport? I paid for my x5 about what an srt would cost. i know the srt is significantly cheaper than an x5m but not too much cheaper than a regular x5 msport.

If you get the SRT you'll wish you waited for the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee “Trackhawk” with the 707 horsepower Hellcat engine.

IDK.. I doubt the current SRT8 handles or out performs a X5 50i.. The only benefit I would see of the SRT8 is the off-road ability, maybe towing.. however, I think that is a wash due to the SRT8 on road function vs. a more traditional Jeep setup. The current SRT8 as is couldn't touch a X5m http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...0i-test-review 2014-X5 50i C/D TEST RESULTS: Zero to 60 mph: 4.3 sec Zero to 100 mph: 10.7 sec Zero to 120 mph: 15.8 sec Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 5.3 sec Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.6 sec Top gear, 50-70 mph: 3.5 sec Standing ¼-mile: 12.8 sec @ 109 mph Top speed (governor limited): 129 mph Braking, 70-0 mph: 172 ft Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.81 g http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...rt-test-review 2014- Jeep SRT8 C/D TEST RESULTS: Zero to 60 mph: 4.6 sec Zero to 100 mph: 11.9 sec Zero to 130 mph: 24.7 sec Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 5.2 sec Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.8 sec Top gear, 50-70 mph: 3.3 sec Standing ¼-mile: 13.2 sec @ 105 mph Top speed (drag limited): 157 mph Braking, 70-0 mph: 162 ft Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad*: 0.88 g The SRT8 out brakes/ skidpad's the X5, however its on P Zeros summer tire vs the common crappy BMW Goodyear Runflat.. I would be curious to see what the X5 50i would post up with P Zeros, I think it would easily take the braking/ skid pad from the jeep. I don't think you can go wrong with either as a DD.. But, its a Jeep vs a BMW and each has pro's n cons.. 20k is a big pill to swallow also, but 4yrs free service throw in EU delivery prices, refinement and build quality... it may not be that far off in prices with a reasonably optioned X5 Last edited by DocWeatherington; 07-26-2015 at 06:59 AM.. |

Yes, keeping an eye on this too. But, pricing will dictate that. If it is much over the srt8 pricing now, i would probably say no dice. I am having a mental block spending more for a jeep than i could get lets say a reasonably optioned bmw. But, the lure of all that HP in the Jeep is very appealing......very appealing

My friend has a '14 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. I have a 2011 X5. The Jeep feels quite a bit smaller on the inside, and his leather is already completely falling apart. But it looks good, and it's faster than my 35i

There was a reason mercedes got rid of Chrysler. Too many quality issues and the workmanship is just not on par for what they are asking price wise. Not even mentioning the depreciation and resale value here.
