Sixt

Has anyone rented from Sixt in the US, or specifically from the SeaTac location?

I'm considering a 5 series or X3 (depending on the weather) and was concerned about availability and substitution.

I rented a gl450 in miami. Can't complain about anything. We wanted to extend our stay and they accomodated to let us keep the car (for a daily fee of course)

We initially had rented a suburban and the keys were locked inside the vehicle. So we had the choice between the gl and an x3.

X3 went from $28 to $150 in two days. Reserved a C-Class for 5 days, but I'm thinking SUV if the forecast is rain.

Last out of town trip, I rented Chevy Sonic. It was actually a good car.

I don't even remember I flew Southwest or not. Maybe I did , but if I did, maybe once?

Everytime, I go to Soutwest website, it is more expensive than Republic Air (frontier).

Southwest is the public bus of the airline world...the one that goes through the sections of town you tell your kids to never walk through because you'll get shanked or shot or shankedshot.

First and last time I flew Frontier was SNA/DEN/MSY in 2014. Never again.

Really? Always had a good experience with Frontier. Maybe because it has most non-stop flights fron DEN.

LOL! This is actually SO true when it comes to the airports they fly to in cities with multiple international airports.

That said, I'd rather fly Southwest than coach on any of the major airlines in this country (and others).

Yeah, I used to fly them a lot before Southwest had direct flights from SAT to DEN. Back then they were excellent competition to Southwest in terms of price and service, if not better. Then I flew them once right after the 2013 sell off because the flight was cheaper. It was right when they implemented the first part of their bottom-of-the-barrel-carrier strategy (a change in strategy of which, at the time, I was totally unaware). After all the nickel and dime B.S. (baggage fees, etc), the flight ended up costing the same as the Southwest one and the service had take a more than noticeable nose dive...NEVER AGAIN. They closed down operations about a year after Southwest started service to DEN from SAT (multiple flights, both direct and with layovers). That could've been attributed to the downsizing they had to do, but I think Southwest blowing them out of the water had a hand in it, too, because they did stay around for quite a bit after Southwest started their competing route. They packed up shop and moved north to Austin. Good riddance.

I've rented from them before in Miami. I think their location was away from the airport, but it worked out well.

I've rented from them every year in Germany for he last 10 years. The rates were always the best compared to the other vendors, and the car selection is like no other. Where else can you rent an BMW M6 or S63 AMG??

I've tried to rent from Avis and Budget and I always ended up back at Sixt

South Florida BMW uses them when I went in for a warranty. All the cars were basic and no Sirius XM but no complaints either

So no GLA, but I did get an Audi Q3 with 20 miles on the odo and dealer adhesives still on the front windshield.

The new car smell was awesome and way better than Minnesota tourist odor, but the gearbox and motor felt anemic. It was good for getting from point A to B in a reasonably comfortable manner, but the words "rapidly" and "fun" never entered into the discussion.

Overall...not bad for $25/day. I'd rent from Sixt again.

Their prices jump day to day. When I see a car and rate I like I reserve right away since you can cancel with no penalties and then if I see something better than the offer I got I reserve and cancel the old one.

Their prices change drastically day to day so I'm always checkin up till the last day before my trip.

A3 is nice. GLA would have been nicer. Saw an AMG45 today that a friend purchased and it's so sexy.
