E46 will be the next iconic M3. It has everything you need, powerful high revving NA 6, perfect cockpit, handling and timeless design. I have to find a way to hold onto mine when the F80 comes

That was a great review...he seemed to like the F80 the least , which may be a fair assessment for the true driving enthusiast....steering feel does seem to be less with each generation of M.

I was going to post this as well. This video perfectly sums up my opinion on all ///M3 generations. The E46 was the pinnacle of what the ///M3 "traditionally" stands for. The E30 was about its chassis, the E36 was all about its motor, the E9X has the V8, and the F8X is all about trying to satisfy all of these attributes at once. I think that's the F8X's biggest fault, trying to be too many cars in one package and it makes one think this is why the F8x feels somewhat less focused compared to its predecessors. Nevertheless, it's still an outstanding car

Thanks for sharing my first M car was the E46 at launch I think it cost me 52k. I actually sold it for a 745i due to having two kids to haul around ages 1, and 6 which I hated to let her go. The 745i was a lemon buy back which was traded for a 545i ......I wish I could have afforded to keep two cars at the time. Merry Christmas.

"A significant step" "A weapon of mass awesomeness" "The performance is absolutely monumental" The only negative comments I noticed were when he had a brief complaint about the steering and a comment that the technology in the car basically means you can drive it fast without having as much driving skill. |

To me he seem most disappointed with the e30. Probably because the hype and expectations were insanely high.
