What kind of car is this? UPDATE: Lancia Montecarlo
I've seen this thing around maybe once a year for the past 3 or 4 years. Finally got a chance to snap a picture today, thinking I could do a little googling and figure it out. I should've just pulled in to look closer or ask the owner. Closest thing I can find is a 79-ish Lotus Esprit, but that's not it--just similar. Anyone know? The fact that I can't figure it out is killing me.

Neither have I but there's always a first time right? By the way I still think it's a Delorean based on the triangular shaped rear glass on the pics but I could be wrong. That other car does look very similar in design to the Delorean after all...

Lancia Monte Carlo...already stated, not very common in EU let alone in the USA...
I'm the 'biggest Lancia fan (Stratos/037/Delta S4/Integrale) ' so to speak. This one is based on the Monte Carlo, 037...last RWD car that won the World Rally Championship Cheers Robin

Haha no it's definitely not a Delorean. I've seen the car closer a few times when it drove by, just didn't get a chance to snap a picture. Also look at the door handles, this has regular doors unlike the Delorean's.

That's because Gruppo Bertone designed most Lancias back in its rally-car heydays. I consider the Lancia Stratos to be one of the design house's crowning achievements ... :
... surpassed only by this icon:

Periscope Countachs look so good. It became a hot mess with the goofy fender and air intake tack ons later. I'd still take a Stratos over one though. That and the Alpina A110 were so small and nimble.
