On the FB page someone said its pointless blah blah
I don't think this is pointless. I have a gold Montblanc pen that I have had for 25 years. Got it for my high school grad. I still use it every day. Although I haven't ordered a 2016 7 yet, as I will hold onto my F01 for another year at least since I have the 7/100mi warranty, I would still love to have one of those pens. Ok I admit to being a snob for certain things.... Cars, shoes, pens, watch, belt, etc but you gotta enjoy the little things that bring a smile or else what's the point ??

Never had the taste for fancy pens, but that centennial pen makes me want to buy a 7 series just so I can have one...

I like pens, I can see the value. I have a Lamy that looks just like a BMW ball point. Its metal instead of plastic and a beautiful instrument.
But.....deep black precious resin? So it's plastic. FAIL!!! There are some amazing artists in the pen game, and some fountain pens go for BIG money(over $100k) but they aren't made of plastic. |

Ill say this.
I wish BMW partnered with a quality leather goods brand (like Mont Blanc) to make all their leather key covers. They quality of their standard offerings are just crap. I'd happily pay a premium to get premium. If only BMW had some clue their customers felt that way...mmmmm |

Just messing, I don't mess fountain pens but I do have a Montblanc I got from my dad about 10 years ago and it's great and all but I get more use from from my Pilot Precise v5 gel!! |

Car branded everyday items are stupid.
If you want something branded with a car company to be accepted, and wanted, it has to synonymous with the brand. For BMW it's power, driving, engineering. I would absolutely buy an in-part BMW designed riding lawn mower, or diesel generator, or car seat, or running stroller. I have no interest in a BMW branded pen, or fannypack, or notebook. Though I do own BMW cufflinks as an over-the-top joke. For a nice pen, I think of precision which makes me think of swiss watch makers, not a fat 7 series.

I bought a Surefire EWP-03 pen... it's cool and at least you can kill people with it.
