Vivid Racing wont refund me my money. (resolved, Refund received)

Placed a order for an exhaust system in July, was promised a delivery within 6 weeks, or end of August. After 6 weeks, nothing, contacted them and the sales person said its already on its way and should arrive 7-10 days. 11 days later, nothing, at this point, they aren't replying and when calling them, place me on hold with no one ever coming back. Somehow managed to cancel the order. now 3 weeks later, no refund.

filed a claim with paypal and the BBB, according to paypal, they havent responded to the claim and wont reply to BBB.

Yet, the sales person, "Adam", assured me the people are working on the dispute and this sort of thing takes time.

Is there a reason why they would hold on to the money and refuse to return it? All they have to do is click refund and the dispute is over. its close to $4k too.

They are a vendor on this forum, they better have a good reason for this. This isn't the first time I heard of bad dealings with vivid. If I recall they wouldn't refund a broken diffuser.

Six weeks for a delivery in the first place is lame. We're almost in Oct. You put $4k into it and they are not bending over backwards to appease. Sound like a bunch of clowns. Wonder if there is a way to ban vendors.

This is why for large purchases like this I will never do it without a credit card involved. Even with PayPal, I have the account funded from a credit card. If PayPal doesn't resolve the issue in a timely manner, I'll just do a charge back with my credit card and let PayPal sort it out on their own time.

This.

Credit card backed paypal account is the only way to go. Let Vivid fight AMX...good luck with that.

there should def. be a way to BAN garbage vendors. but that will never happen as long as the money keeps rolling into the forum. moderators should at least respect the community enough to make a move, and fix things.

4 weeks to ship something though? that is unacceptable.

Won't help the current situation but is there ever a reason to use Paypal if they take credit cards (and in this case they do)? Even with Paypal charging your card it seems like they aren't adding anything helpful to the transaction.

Should've used a CC.
I dont understand while people buy expensive ass shit online without using a funding source that is backed by consumer protection.

OP, you should also file a claim with the CFPB against Vivid and give PayPal a few more days to resolve, if not, file a complaint against them. I believe their policy is they have 11 days to respond to a CFPB complaint or are in violation of reg.

Get your money yet? This salesman "Adam" do you know his last name? Is Adam the only person you have dealt with? Has anyone else corresponded with you through email? They should have someone responsible there in charge. I looked at their Yelp reviews and there are other employee names mentioned there like "Dan". I suggest you go immediately around and above Adam (I don't know him but I am sure he is a sweet guy). I just looked at Vivid racing's website. They offer a huge selection, meaning they do a majority of there business with drop shipping. Some of these companies now are also using contractors for customer service as well. Perhaps Adam is the bad link here? I have a lot experience collecting "owed" money, and that experience says that persistence pays off. I would call them every single time that the thought crosses your mind. I would also contact them and/or review them on yelp. Were it me, I would do like 'El Jeffe 5' said and pay them a visit. If it was my $4k (or $4.00) I would have already got my money back.

They would not make much interest on one persons $4k, but multiply that times about 100 people and it would be a nice side business.

Adam is not a salesman he is the owner, they are drop shippers so refunds from them take forever. Search NASIOC and IWSTI , he has a very colorful reputation. Yes I was also a victim a long time ago, maybe admins can hit google search before they make someone a vendor.

Yep, gotta do your homework because Vivid doesn't have a great reputation. Paypal generally favors the buyer so they should make it right.

definitely PM an admin and ask them to request a response on the forum from Vivid.

Subscribed.. Interested in seeing the outcome.

I contacted them for quotes on the Armytrix and the Akrapovik for my M2 and they were very responsive, answered all my questions but held off because I really am still on the fence of which exhaust to go with.

But was definitely considering purchasing thru them.
