Anyone have a sample resume of import/export business related? I am writing a resume for my girl... and it's kind of due asap and I want the best out of it :P. Any helpful site would be great too! Thanks

I don't know about import/export itself but I know most resumes content depends on what level job is being applied for.

Grades, Community Service, etc are good for an entry level resume but you would want more experience, previous jobs, accomplishments on a higher level application.

I don't know any sites that do job specific resume help without charging $$$. Monster.com and those job sites have general resume advice on them though.

only list job/skills related to what you are applying for. don't throw useless junk in there. no one cares if she worked at macy's unless she did importing/exporting for them.

when describing previous job experience, be detailed and throwing in numbers are always a plus. for example, "increased import/export revenue by 150%" or something along those lines. most of these things can't be measured or even validated but it shows you're looking at promoting company growth.

your girlfriend needs to shine so this is where you brag about her on paper.

keep it to 1 page if possible.

As a hiring manager, I'd say keep it to one page, period. Unless you have 15+ years of relevant experience, there's absolutely no reason to go over 1 page. Ask any good HR person, they'll tell you the same thing.

Don't get too creative on the resume, unless the job calls for creativity.

Don't use 3 words when 2 will do.

I don't know about that. I has a creative resume with color and all. I think it makes it stand out a bit more. If I could land a good actuary job with a creative resume, I think an import/export resume could be creative as well.

Myself I have 2 versions of resume...(one is designed, another one is just the plain old fashion way..)
