What is it with VW drivers?
Generally, I just ignore Audi drivers, and pity MB drivers.
But VW Rabbit (oops: "Golf") drivers: What is with them? Is it attention-getting? Is it "Me too! I have a German car!" What? They just can't stop trying to drag me, pass me, tail me, whatever... It's rather tiresome. |

They just wanna see if their "GTI" Golf has the cahones to take your M car on. Happens to me a lot here in Los Angeles as well. Quite funny really since I never entertain them. Hmmmm.....Ok wait one time I did and blew the doors off his GTI. I even remember passing him gradually, my window open, as his engine was screaming at full tilt.

I never get VW and why people would pay so much for such a boring looking not so power car. It's not bad engine wise but not so great either. No matter how I look at them, I always see a Golf = 0 character on the road

I'd never have one, because it's a hatchback, but there's not much else out there that combines a refined ride, decent interior, and any kind of power for the same price point. |

I would not discount VWs out right. GTIs can be pretty quick and the Golf R can be made to be pretty fast. I had an R32 in the past fun car. It is the Toyota, Nissan and Korean cars that bother me more with the drivers over driving those car's abilities.

There is some of that here but I tell you what, I am 100% convinced that a disproportionate number of complete asshats drive Nissan Altimas here in Houston.
Probably compounded by the 'race car' motif of their ads here on US TV. At first I thought it was just a series of coincidences but then the wife and I started paying attention and damn near 70%+ of interactions with Altimas are near disastrous due to lousy aggressive driving or completely distracted driving. We paid attention to many other makes but Nissan Altimas win hands down - Bizarre! Apologies to those that drive them and hoping you are in the other 30%!! Quote:

It's because that little Golf R will wreck an F8x off the line... they just want to embarrass you and have some fun
Don't be a BMW snob.

Never happened to me with VW drivers. I'm having the same problem with Non-M BMW drivers here in Bay Area.

Not happy with the sound
I don't know what is it..but my M3 exhaust sounds bother me so much.
I'm just not satisfy even with performance exhaust.. Just make no sense how much 135is sound better than this. |

It seems like 20 something year olds in beat up Civics with modded exhausts are the ones always challenging me. At least that's been my experience so far...

Bc race car... Came from a GTI and have had a lot of seat time in an R32, they're great cars and a ton of fun. Reliability is there and with a few mods can become real fast. My guess as to why some VW owners are annoying you is bc they are fans of the M brand and want to either look at it, or see how, they stack up. Either way it's a compliment, albeit a bit annoying. I personally remember trying to chase down M cars honestly just to get a look at them, I also happened to be in a GTI. |

I'm a former VW Golf R owner and with APR Stage II, I couldn't easily pull on a stock F8x. $1800 in mods and the car would run 11.8 quarter mile consistently (others with same mods, never ran mine)
