Updated S2000 in the works?
http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/...R5&ocid=LENDHP
Super/turbocharger combo with 8 speed DCT. No mention of a 6MT which is widely considered, even 20 years later, as the industry standard.

I sold my NB Miata for an M Coupe, but strongly considered an AP1 S2000. I still wish I'd had one. This car doesn't even make my eyebrows rise. |

I like that render shot! I always wanted to have a go at the S2000 but like the Miata, I physically cannot fit inside one.
Without 6MT however, it's dead to me. |

To be fair, we know nothing about this car. I also qualified my joke with "nearly" for the exact vehicles you mentioned. But seriously, how many times have we heard that BMW has lost its soul?

Doesn't do much more for me. The Miata is lighter, smaller, naturally aspirated and faster. So the Alfa doesn't hold any allure.

Talk is also around the $50k mark, which kind of sets it up for failure.

And to be fair, the Accord and Civic are massively better now than they were back when the S2k was still around. Honda's been doing good things (ignoring Acura.) |

You could always take a stroll over to the political sub-forum. That's a great way to blow half a day and raise your blood pressure. Politics truly bring out the worst in everyone lol

Honda better nail this one. I miss my S2K. Formula is simple:
Light Roadster 6MT (I mean, the previous one had the best in the business) Small, high revving engine ??? Profit |

No 6MT, no care. No price tag under $45k, no care either.
On a serious note, no matter what they do, they'll never match the old S2k anyway. And if the new NSX is anything to go by, I'm not optimistic.

Aren't those patent renderings of the NSX Lite? I assume that has nothing to do with the S2k, unless they just throw the powertrain in there. Would be nice of Acura to make a nice, simple NSX successor instead of the train wreck we have now.
