Yup. I think they sold it for something like 7 or 8 billions- lost $30 billions from the original purchase price of $38billion. Crazy!! We've been discussing this case in class for a while now. They did a lot of things wrong when they bought out Chrysler.

No big deal until they start to share engine powerplants.....nowadays many vehicle manufacturer outsource many parts like hoses, belts, window, etc etc...

for example, windows, my 2006 E90 windows was made by Pilkington (a UK company)...and I found out the E92 M3's window was made by Saint-Gobain (a French company) which is the same glass manufacturer for my 2003 Volvo S40...can we say BMW and Volvo share parts....

so vehicle manufacturers constantly switch vendors....as long as the vendor provides an acceptable quality, guarenteed delivery time, and lowest price....i wouldn't be surprised several different car companies are using the same parts....
