That is so sad. What a waste of a million dollar.

Haha, ya they were discussing it this morning. That the guy would let some guy who he barely knows the name drive his million dollar sports car. I wonder if he beat the SLR.
I rather be the guy who raced and crashed the car then to have the car sit in a garage for its lifetime and gets taken out to crystal cove on weekend morning only. At least the car's safe, neither of the occupants were hurt. Like the saying goes, its better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all.

that car is one step away from being a formula one car. unless you take it on a track from time to time, you will eventually end up in a power pole. it's like priests not being able to have sex eventually strike for something that is available to them, little boys.
what a loss!

The analogy works better this way... there's a very good looking man, instead of becoming a priest and live a long and virtuous life, he chose to live on the wild side and go out in a blazing glory.

A sad day for the car, but a wonderful day for the man. He's alive. He'll now have a new lease on life.

I wonder if they will spring the big bucks for a DNA test to see if he was really driving. It would be kind of stupid just for a DUI charge that would only net a fine of a couple thousand dollars at most. I don't know why he let them test his BAC, though. There is no implied consent law for passengers.

They claim it was against a MB SLR...which costs about half a million.
What do you guys think about the LP640? It's 0.1s faster (3.4) than the Enzo 0-60 (3.5). And it's half the price of the Ferrari.

Saw this somewhere else ... can't stop remarking how the CF crash structure/cell held up an obviously violent crash ... F1 technology I guess money is no substitute for stupidity

Haha the news tonight said the "passenger" Stefan Erikson, appears to be the same Erikson that drives ferrari in GT races professionally in Europe. Who also later became an executive for a software game company call Gizmondo, and resigned when there were some financial problems. The Enzo is not registered, and an European bank contacted the police indicating that the Enzo was repo-ed! This just gets funnier and funnier!

Yep. And apparently according to Ferrari, there may be an on-board computer that might give authorities clues as to the speed of the car upon impact.

Damn! How deep will the rabbit hole go!? The Ferrari Enzo saga continues. I wonder if all these were staged by Ferrari for extra publicity? The link has an animated Video now!
Video may hold clue to PCH crash
