Calling all Germans!
For my German class, I'm required to write a 3-5 minute oral that discusses a certain aspect of Germany that greatly differs from that of America. Therefore, being the German-Car-Owner I am and transportation enthusiast, I've decided to focus my oral on the difference of transportation systems between Germany and America (particularly SoCal).
I've only been to Germany once, and that was when I was really young, so I only remember there being a subway and a LOT of taxis. Where I live, everyone drives to get where they want, so obviously it's a big culture difference. So, if you guys could do me the favor of helping me out, could all the Germans and/or worldly individuals do me the favor of pointing out significant differences? I'd like to know how Germans regard transportation, such as wasting fuel, use of diesel, etc, and how they view the American transportation system (perhaps wasteful?). Thanks to anyone who really helps me out on this one. |

I'd like to help you, but I've never been to Germany. I made it up to German V in high school, and I'm glad I never had to do anything like this . Is this for high school German or college German?
Well, good luck. There are plenty of awesome members here living in Germany and I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help you out. |

My professor told me that Germans don't like to take long road trips. The size difference of the countries is the obvious reason: we drive four hours to get to a different part of the state, whereas if they drive for four hours, they're in another country!
