Members IQ Poll

I know I'll get crucified for putting this one on, but I'm more interested in this parameter than income, height or age. Y'all know the poll is confidential.

Well, the results are invalid unless the same IQ test is applied to all of the voters. Otherwise, there will be deviation between the aptitude of each peculiar test.

i agree, you won't even get the right idea about the numbers unless we all take the test using the same source.

Here is an online IQ test you can take if anyone is interested. I don't know how good it is, I didn't take it. I just found it through Google.

i assume that any of the .com places are gonna ask for money at some point. maybe before or, in the worse case, after you take the test. but maybe this one is different, haven't checked it out yet...

Yeah of course not - but at least the scores will be consistent.

I took the test and I personally found it to be pretty stupid. I wonder if it was time-based.

EDIT: Yup, it was timed - 20 seconds per question. So that coffee break in the middle probably hurted me.

Actually, I think that IQ tests are relatively good in terms of reproducibility across tests [Hernstein & Murray]. I doub't there's that much variance on how one would do in Stanford-Binet, Wechsler, etc. Besides, like SAT's or bench press, I think people will only believe their highest score. Funny how we don't question validity of other parameters, eh?

My main suspicion about this poll is, however that there will be significant self-selection as far as people who choose to report their values.

Plus there are bound to be some liars as well. According to the poll, so far 11 out of 14 people who have voted fall into the top 2.3% of the world as far as IQ.

I took one of those online tests 6 years ago and got either 146 or 153 ( I forgot which but I remember it's around there somewhere). They said Bill Gates has about the same amount too. After all the weed, mine's probably down to 100 now...

Because GPA isn't a measurement of your potential intelligence.

Thank you! Everyone's always saying that GPA shows how smart you are. What a bunch of BS. I think Einstein got C's in math and looked how he turned out (well obviously he's dead), but he was one hell of a dude. Bill Gates got B's and dropped outta college...enough said.

GPA is much better than some dumb internet test that asks you about patterns. I think those tests are a bunch of bullshit, especially if everyone here claims they're mensa. if you have real iq results from a real test then post them, otherwise it's useless.

Didn't I state that online IQ tests were useless? And that Mensa comment was obviously a joke. Even so, those BS internet tests are probably a better indicator than one's GPA (at least those tests are standardized).
