Trade in for 996TT for 2007 MB CLS63 AMG?
I have an opportunity to trade my 2001 Porsche 996TT with 18,000 miles for a 2007 Mercedes CLS63 AMG with 7,500 miles..."even Steven." Both vehicles are in pristine condition.
Would you trade? |

Well it seems so far that there is a resounding "NO!" I thought it would be great to post my question here for an unbiased opinion as I got the same reaction over at 6speedonline.com.
I'm about 95% sure I won't trade but the allure of 507 horses and the creature comforts are still kind of attractive. |

Trade for the new GT-R or something.. Otherwise, I would keep the 996.

CLS really doesn't hold a candle to the 996 in terms of looks. I may be a minority but I think the CLS is one awkwardly proportioned ugly car. Keep the Porsche

Go for it!
The 996 I dare to say is "outdated." Trade in for the CLS 63 and maybe you can trade that for a 997TT or GT3 later.

I mention the 997TT because since the OP has a 996TT, he should go ahead for the CLS63 for a change. When he gets tired of the CLS, he should go back to Porsche. My two cents.

I actually think you're getting the better end of the deal. I've seen '01 996TT's with slightly more miles (30k) go for barely over $60k recently, and I haven't seen an '07 CLS 63AMG that you could touch for less than $70k, and most are in the mid-$70's.
I would probably do it.
